तारा चं ते बोलणं करुणा ऐकते अन तिला खात्री पटते की आता आपलं कुटुंब पूर्णपणे एक झालं आहे. एवढ्यात शेजारी पाजारी लोकं कुजबुज करू लागलेले…”सगळे एकत्र राहताय, किती दिवस राहतील असं? शक्य तरी आहे का या काळात सर्वांना घेऊन पुढे जाणं…”

“नाहीतर काय, घरात भरपूर वाद असतील, बाहेर थोडी ना येऊ देणार आहे ते…”

सर्वांच्या डोळ्यात या कुटुंबाचं असं एकत्र राहणं डोळ्यात खुपु लागलेलं… कारण ही सर्व मंडळी एक तर वेगळी राहत होती, आणि काही कारणाने आपल्या भावांसोबत, कुटुंबियांसोबत वाद घालून तटस्थ राहणारी होती….रामराज्य संकल्पना कितीही छान वाटली तरी प्रत्यक्षात तसं करणं कुणालाही शक्य झालं नव्हतं…

अश्यातच एक शेजारीण करुणा च्या घरी आली, घरातलं सगळं पाहून तिला ईर्षा निर्माण झाली….
कुत्सितपणे ती म्हणाली,

“कौतुक आहे हा तुमचं… एकत्र राहताय सगळे…रामराज्याच जणू…पण हे कलियुग आहे…किती दिवस एकत्र राहाल? रामराज्य कुठल्या काळात झालं…आज कुठला काळ चालुये…”

करुणा नम्रतेने तिला म्हणाली,

“ताई…आज खूप लोकांना आमचं असं एकत्र राहणं खुपतंय… आणि अगदी बरोबर बोललात, हे कलियुग आहे…रामराज्याची त्रेतायुगाच हवं असं नाही…मनात राम जिवंत ठेवला तर कुणीही रामराज्य उभं करू शकतं… भगवान रामांनी अवतार का घेतला? पुढच्या अनेक युगांनी त्यांचा आदर्श घेऊन संसार करावा यासाठीच ना? राजसत्ता सोडून वनवासात का गेले? त्याग, सच्चेपणा आणि संस्कारांचं आपल्याला प्रात्यक्षिक मिळावं म्हणूनच…”

शेजारीण खजील होऊन निघून गेली…तारा ने ते सर्व ऐकलं होतं…ती करुणा जवळ येऊन म्हणाली…

“वहिनी…खूप छान बोललात हो तुम्ही…पण मला एक भीती वाटतेय…”

“कसली भीती?”

“म्हणजे आमचंच उदाहरण तुम्हाला सांगते..ऑफिस मध्ये एखादं नवीन काम आलं की आम्ही अगदी उत्साहात ते करतो, नाविन्यपूर्ण काहीतरी आणायचा प्रयत्न करतो…पण जसजसा वेळ जाऊ लागतो तसतसं आम्हाला कंटाळा येतो आणि एक वेळ अशी येते की ते काम नको नको वाटतं, चिडचिड होते….”

“बरोबर आहे…कुठल्या तरी वेळी एखादी गोष्ट नको नको होऊन जाते..”

“मग आपल्या बाबतीतही हेच झालं तर? आज आपण एकत्र आहोत…नुकतीच सुरवात झालीये आपल्या या नव्या ध्येयाची…पण उद्या कुणाला परत याचा वीट आला तर?”

करुणा ला तारा चं म्हणणं पटतं…. एकत्र रहायचं आहे..पण भविष्यात कुणालाही याचा पश्चाताप व्हायला नको…

दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळी सकाळी घरात कानावर रामरक्षा स्तोत्राचे बोल कानी येऊ लागतात….त्या आवाजाने सर्वजण उठतात आणि हॉल मध्ये येतात…करुणा ने हॉल च्या एका कोपऱ्यात रामाची मूर्ती ठेवलेली असते…सासरेबुवा म्हणतात,

“सुनबाई, ही मूर्ती देव्हाऱ्यातली आहे…इकडे का आणलीस?”

“बाबा…देव्हाऱ्यातली भक्ती माणूस देव्हारा सोडला की विसरून जातो…रामाला फक्त देव्हाऱ्यात नाही ठेवायचं… आपल्या जीवनात आणायचं आहे…”

“वहिनी…आम्हाला समजलं नाही..”.

“आता मी काय सांगते ते नीट ऐका….आपण सर्वजण आज एकत्र बांधले गेलोय…पण तरी प्रत्येकाची वाट वेगळी आहे…प्रत्येकाचा संघर्ष वेगळा आहे…आज आपल्याला सर्वांना एक ध्येय उचलायचं आहे..”

“कसलं ध्येय वहिनी?”

करुणा चौघ्या भावांकडे बघते…वृषाली, मनाली अन तारा कडे एक कटाक्ष टाकते आणि सांगते…

“तुम्ही माझी ताकद आहात… सासूबाईंच्या स्वप्नांचे शिलेदार आहात…आता तुमच्यासमोर एक नवीन आव्हान मी देतेय…सर्वांनी उठा आणि निर्माण करा एक साम्राज्य….एक असं साम्राज्य की पिढ्यानपिढ्या लोकांच्या तोंडात “सूर्यवंशी” कुटुंबाचं नाव राहील.…आदर्श कुटुंब कसं असावं हे आपल्या परिवाराकडे बोट दाखवून लोकं सांगतील…आपण एकत्र आहोत हीच आपली खूप मोठी ताकद आहे…चला तर मग, उचला हे ध्येय आणि कामाला लागा…आपली जमीन…तिच्यावर एक साम्राज्य उभं करा…रामकाळात रामाने आपल्या कर्तृत्वाने लोकांच्या मनावर राज्य केलं…आज तुम्ही व्यवसाय क्षेत्रात उंची गाठून लोकांच्या हृदयावर राज्य करा… त्या जमिनीवर उभं करा तुमच्या व्यवसायाचं साम्राज्य…. दाखवून द्या जगाला रामराज्याची ताकद…दाखवून द्या एकीची ताकद….ही रामाची मूर्ती इथेच राहील…येता जाता तुम्हाला तिचं दर्शन होईल…जेव्हा जेव्हा दर्शन होईल तेव्हा तेव्हा या ध्येयाचं पुनरुच्चारण करा…आणि आपल्या ध्येयापासून कधीही ढळू नका….”

वातावरण अगदी भावमय झालेलं…आजची सकाळ सर्वांसाठी एक नवीन पर्व घेऊन आलेली…प्रत्येकजण या नवीन ध्येयासाठी भारावून गेलेला…सासरेबुवांना रामराज्यातील त्यागमूर्ती आणि तेजस्वी सीतामाई करुणा च्या रुपात दिसू लागली….

तिघे भाऊ वहिनीच्या पायाशी येऊन हात जोडतात..

“वहिनी, आज आईची खूप आठवण येतेय…आज ती हवी होती…”

“आई नसली तरी ती तुमच्यासाठी एक हे ध्येय मागे टाकून गेलीये…तिचं स्वप्न देऊन गेलीये….आता जोवर आपल्या कुटुंबाकडे पाहुन लोकांच्या तोंडात ‘हेच ते रामराज्य’ असं येत नाही तोवर थांबू नका…”
