चला शिकूया रांगोळी…





शिक्षण, नोकरी यामुळे घरकामात मी फारशी तरबेज नव्हते, तोकडा स्वयंपाक यायचा..त्यात जो यायचा तोही बिघडायचा…पण एक गोष्ट मात्र अशी होती की ज्यामुळे माझ्या सासरी माझं फार कौतुक केलं जायचं ते म्हणजे “दारा पुढील रांगोळी”.
माहेरी आईचा स्वभाव मुळातच कलासक्त होता, त्यामुळे चित्र, ओरिगामी, सजावट आणि रांगोळी याची शिदोरी आई कडूनच मिळत गेली…आईने कधीही घरकाम शिकवायचा अट्टहास केला नाही, उलट वाचनाची आणि कलेची आवड आमच्यात निर्माण केली. त्यामुळे रांगोळी मध्ये फार कमी वयात मी तरबेज झाले.
आज इतकी आर्थिक आणि सामाजिक उत्क्रांती झाली, काही परंपराही पडद्याआड गेल्या पण तरीही आज प्रत्येक दारापुढे निदान सणासुदीला रांगोळी दिसणारच.. रांगोळी चा इतिहास पहिला तर त्यामागे काही शास्त्रीय कारणेही आहेत.
आपल्या आजीला आणि आईला ठिपक्यांच्या रांगोळ्या माहीत असलेल्या आपण बघतो..
काही विशिष्ट नाद, संगीत ऐकल्यावर  मनाला एक अनोखी मानसिक शांती मिळते, एक समाधान मिळते… भौतिकशास्त्र बघितले तर ध्वनी च्या कंपनांमुळे म्हणजेच vibrations मुले त्या एक विशिष्ट आकार तयार होतो..त्याची एक सुंदर नक्षी बनते..विशिष्ट कंपणं एकत्र केल्यावर जसा नाद ऐकू येतो तशीच त्या कंपणातून एक आकारही साकारला जातो…ज्याप्रमाणे ध्वनी मधून शांती मिळते तसंच त्यापासून तयार झालेल्या आकार मधूनही तोच परिणाम प्राप्त होतो.

सुरवातीला धान्याच्या साहाय्याने, फुलांच्या साहाय्याने रांगोळी काढली जायची, हळूहळू रंगीत दगडांची भुकटी करून ती वापरली जायची..या दगडाला शिरगोळे म्हणतात आणि ते नागपूर मधील कोराडी भागात सापडतात, तिथे हा व्यवसाय जोरात चालतो आणि आता विविध रासायनिक रंगही उपलब्ध आहेत…
तामिळनाडू मध्ये याला कोलम म्हणतात, गुजरात मध्ये रंगोळी तर महाराष्ट्रात रांगोळी म्हटले जाते..
संत साहित्यात रांगोळी चा उल्लेख खूप ठिकाणी आहे,
संत जनाबाई यांच्या ‘चला विठोबा मंदिरात’ या अभंगात त्या म्हणतात, “रांगोळी घातली गुलालाची”
संत एकनाथांच्या गाथेत “रांगोळ्या नानापरी अंगणी, घालिताती सप्रेमें।”
असा पुरातन काळापासून रांगोळीचा उल्लेख केला गेला आहे.
काळाप्रमाणे ही कलाही आपले नवीन रूप परिधान करत गेली, आज आपल्याला 3D रांगोळी, पोस्टर रांगोळी अशी विविध स्वरूप दिसतात.


मला विविध ठिकाणी रांगोळी साठी ऑर्डर यायच्या, त्यासाठी काढलेल्या व काही रांगोळ्या…










अंगणात रांगोळी काढली की रस्त्याने जाणाऱ्यांची नजर रांगोळीवर खिळायची, काहीजण फोटो काढून घेत, काहीजण पुढे जाऊन परत मागे येत..आणि हे सगळं कौतुक सासूबाई खिडकीतून गपचूप बघत…“बघा हो,लोकं मागे जाऊन परत येताय रांगोळी पाहायला, फोटो काढताय… “ त्या खूप खुश होत, मग सकाळी उठल्यावर “संजना तू रांगोळी काढ, मी घरातलं बघून घेईन” असं म्हणायच्या आणि मला मस्त कामातून सुट्टी मिळायची…काम नाही म्हणून रांगोळी अजून सुंदर काढायची, नवीन प्रयोग करायची, सणावाराला साजेल अशी प्रत्येक सणाला त्या दिवसाला साजेल अशी रांगोळी काढायला मला आवडायचे…
