रमा आल्यापासून सासूबाईंनी दर आठवड्याला गावाकडून एकेक पाहुणा बोलवायला सुरवात केली, रमा यायच्या आधी सासूबाई कुणी आलं तर त्यांना जेवायला बनवावं लागणार म्हणून टाळाटाळ करत, पण आता?

“अरे देवा..”

म्हणत दुसरी भाजी करायला घेतली, पाहुणे म्हणून आलेल्या बायका गंमतच बघत होत्या..कसंबसं पाहुण्यांना ताटात एक भाजी, पोळी आणि कोशिंबीर वाढली आणि सासूबाईंनी सुस्कारा टाकला.

तोच पलीकडून आवाज आला,

“पोळी वाढा”

सासूबाईंच्या लक्षात आलं की त्यांनी नेमक्याच पोळ्या केलेल्या, बाकीच्या गरमगरम करणार होत्या.. त्यांना घाम फुटला, पटकन उठल्या आणि एकेक पोळी बनवून वाढू लागल्या. आलेले पाहुणे कसेबसे जेवत होते, एक बाई म्हणाली,

“आमच्या चुलत्या आलेल्या, तेव्हा तर म्हणे फार साग्रसंगीत स्वयंपाक केलेला होता…बरोबर आहे म्हणा, तेव्हा रमा होती…आज तिला जावं लागलं, तुम्हाला तर काही जमत नाही असलं..ती असती तर छान बेत झाला असता हो..”
