तिने त्याच्याकडे प्रश्नार्थक नजरेने पाहिलं,

तो म्हणाला,

“बघतेस काय? लिहून घे ना…लिहून देतो तर देतो वर मलाच डोळे वर करून बघते..”

एवढं आहे हेही हातातून जायचं या विचाराने तिने ते लिहून घेतलं..

त्याने परत एकदा समजावलं,

“हे बघ, खूप सोपं आहे बोलणं..उगाच टेन्शन घेऊ नकोस…शाळेतल्या मुलीसारखी लाजू नकोस..आपल्या मुलाने काहीतरी पराक्रम केला आहे, तुझ्या बोलण्याने ते वाया जाऊ देऊ नकोस..”

तिला भरपूर शिकवून तो शांत झोपी गेला,

दुसऱ्या दिवशी ती सकाळ पासून इकडून तिकडे चकरा मारत होती,

काहीच सुचत नव्हतं,

कार्यक्रम संध्याकाळी होता,

नवऱ्याला बाहेरगावी निघायचं होतं,

तिने कसाबसा त्याचा डबा केला,

तेवढ्यात त्याला फोन आला,

“बाहेरगावी जाणं कॅन्सल..”

हे ऐकून ती आनंदाने नाचू लागली,

डोक्यावरचं मोठं टेन्शन मिटलं,

तो म्हणाला,

“देवाला नवस केला होतास की काय? असो, जाऊ संध्याकाळी, आणि काय…मलाच बोलावं लागणार आता..”

संध्याकाळी तिघेही छानपैकी तयार होऊन शाळेत गेले,

दोघेही अभिमानाने फुलून गेले होते,

शेवटी तो क्षण आलाच,

मुलाला बक्षीस मिळालं, आणि आई वडीलांना स्टेजवर बोलावण्यात आलं..

ती साडी सावरत स्टेजवर गेली आणि त्यानेही मोठ्या दिमाखात पावलं टाकली,
