बरा म्हणजे त्या काळातील बरा,

काटकसर करून संसार,

पण शिस्तबद्ध लागायचं,

कसं राहायचं, काय बोलायचं, काय करायचं,

सगळी सूत्र सासूच्या हातात,

ते मान खाली घालुन मान्य करणं हेच योग्य असा त्यावेळचा समज,

मग ते चांगलं असो वा वाईट,

व्यक्तिस्वातंत्र्य गेलं चुलीत,

कारण हा शब्द जरी काढला,

तरी टूक्कार, अवलादी, मजोरडी हे लेबल लागणार,

तरी तिने धीर एकटवून नवऱ्याला विचारलं,

मी काही काम बघू का? घराला थोडा हातभार लागेल,

जवळपास महिनाभर घरात भांडणं झाली,

सासू म्हणायची घर बघायचं सोडून भटकायला जायचं नाही,

नवरा आईच्या सूरात सूर मिळवे,

तेही राहिलं,

पुढे घर झालं, गाडी झाली,हफ्ते सुरू झाले,

मुलांची शिक्षणं झाली, लग्न झालं,

सुनबाई घरात आली,

नोकरीवाली होती,

मालतीने तिच्यात स्वतःला पाहिलं,

तिला नोकरी करता यावी म्हणून घराची जबाबदारी स्वतःवर घेतली,
