शिल्पा च्या मनात शंका निर्माण होते, हे दुखणं बऱ्याचदा सासूबाईंना यायचं…पण तपासणीला त्या कायम नकार देत असत…
“आई ऐका माझं, एकदा MRI काढून घ्या..”
“अगं काही नाही, पित्त झालंय साधं…त्यामुळे होतं असं..”
“होका??? बरं झालं सांगितलं, आम्हाला हे शिकवलंच नाही..”
दोघीही हसायला लागतात..
“बरं माझ्या धाकल्या नणंद बाई कुठेय?”
“ती काय टेरेस मध्ये फोनवर बोलतेय..”
शिल्पा तिला भेटायला जाते, फोनवर तिचं बोलणं काहीसं रोमँटिक असतं… शिल्पा ला समजतं की ही नक्की बॉयफ्रेंड सोबत बोलत असणार, तिच्याशी नंतर बोलू असा विचार करून शिल्पा आत जाते..
संध्याकाळी सर्वजण जेवायला बसतात…
ननंदबाई अक्षरा मोबाईल मधेच गुंतलेल्या असतात,मधेच खुदकन हसतात, ते पाहून शिल्पा म्हणते…
“अक्षरा तुला बरं नाहीये सांगितलं नाहीस?”
अक्षरा भानावर येते,
“मला? मी बरी आहे की..”
“काय गं? काही दुखतंय का?” आई विचारते..
“नाही गं आई..वहिनी तू डॉक्टर आहेस म्हणून तुला सगळे पेशंटच दिसतात वाटतं..”
“नाही गं… मला सांग, एखादा व्यक्ती चांगला नॉर्मल आहे…आणि मधेच खुदकन हसला तर? काहीही कारण नसताना केवळ मोबाईल मध्ये बघून त्याचा मूड एकदम खुश होऊन जात असेल तर? कधीही गाणे न म्हणणारा माणूस एकदम गुणगुणायला लागत असेल तर??”
रोशन ला तिचा रोख समजतो…
“काय गं अक्षु, काही आहे का??”
“काही आहे का म्हणजे? अक्षरा ला काय झालंय?” आई घाबरून विचारते…
“वहिनी…..!!! तुला माझा सगळा आजार नीट समजावून सांगते नंतर, शेवटी तुलाच ट्रीटमेंट करावी लागणार आहे याची…”
“हो आणि मी पोलीस आहे, मला चार ठिकाणी चौकश्या कराव्या लागतील..”
“काय चाललंय तुम्हा तिघांचं समजेल का?” आई वैतागून विचारते..
“काही नाही ओ आई…सहज आपली गंमत..”
जेवण उरकून सगळे आपापल्या खोलीत जातात, अक्षरा दार लावून बसली असते…आई खोलीचं दार वाजवते…अक्षरा दार उघडते…आई पटकन आत येऊन दार लावून घेते आणि अक्षरा चा हात धरून तिला बेडवर बसवते..
“अक्षरा, कोण आहे तो मुलगा?”
“कसला..कोणता..”
“अगं आई आहे मी….तुमच्या समोर लाख दाखवेल की मला काही समजत नाही ते…पण चार पावसाळे जास्त पाहिलेत मी…मला सांग सगळं..”
अक्षरा आईला सगळं सांगते, आणि मुलगाही दाखवते..
“अरे हा तर आपला मंक्या…”
“आई मानस नाव आहे त्याचं..”
“असेल तुझा मानस… मी मंक्या म्हणते याला..अगं माझी बालमैत्रीण शांता चा हा मुलगा…याच्याशीच तुझं लग्न व्हावं म्हणून आम्ही प्रयत्न करत होतो..”
“काय????”
“काय तू, मला सांगितलं असतं… डेटला चोरी छुपे जावं लागलं नसतं..”
“आं??”
एवढं म्हणत आई निघून जाते, अक्षरा मात्र आईच्या तोंडून “डेट” शब्द ऐकून हैराण होते…मनाशीच म्हणते…
“आजचे सिनियर सिटीझन्स फारच ऍडव्हान्स झालेत.”
इकडे शिल्पा च्या क्लिनिक मध्ये एक 35 वर्षाची स्त्री आपल्या 6 वर्षाच्या मुलाला घेऊन येते…
“मॅडम, अगदी वीट आणलाय या मुलाने मला…नुसता चिडचिड करतो…कारण नसताना आदळआपट करतो…काहीतरी औषध द्या..”
“मला याचं रुटीन सांगा..”
“सकाळी शाळेत जातो, आल्यावर त्याला झोपवते,मग क्लास, क्लास वरून आला की मग खेळायला जातो…जेवण करतो आणि लवकर झोपतो…याचं मन रमावं म्हणून भरपूर खेळण्या, व्हिडीओ गेम्स आणून दिलेत…पण काही उपयोग नाही..”
शिल्पा विचार करते…आत जाऊन एक औषधाची बाटली घेते…त्यातलं औषध बेसिन मध्ये ओतून बाटली रिकामी करते…त्यात वेगळं लिक्विड टाकते आणि ते या स्त्री ला देते…
इतक्यात केबिन मध्ये एक फार्मासिस्ट येतो..
“ओह सॉरी, मी बाहेर थांबतो..”
“नाही मिस्टर जगदीश, झालंच आमचं, बसा तुम्ही…”
मिस्टर जगदीश बसतात..
“हा तर मी सांगत होते की हे एकदम पावरफुल औषध आहे…दररोज सकाळी उठल्यावर सूर्याच्या प्रकाशात जाऊन 1 ml घ्यायचं, नंतर पाच पाच मिनिटांनी असं 5 वेळा हे औषध घ्यायचं…”
“म्हणजे मॅडम उन्हातच घ्यायचं का?”
“हो..”
“आणि रात्री सुद्धा 8 ते 9 दरम्यान दर 10 मिनिटांनी 1-1 ml द्यायचं…”
“ठीक आहे मॅडम , पण फरक पडेल ना?”
“हो मग…”
ते दोघे निघून जातात, इकडे हा फार्मासिस्ट सगळं पाहत असतो, त्याने आजतागायत असं कुठलंही औषध पाहिलं नव्हतं…त्याने बाटलीत ओतून उरलेल्या सोल्युशन कडे नीट पाहिलं…वास घेतला, चाटून पाहिलं आणि तो ओरडलाच…
“अरे हे तर पाणी आहे..”
“शशशशश…मिस्टर जगदीश हळू…”
“तुम्ही औषध म्हणून पाणी देताय पेशंट ला?”
डॉक्टर शिल्पा हसायला लागते…
“मिस्टर जगदीश…तुम्हाला अजून यामागची थियरी समजली नाही..”
“कसली?”
“मुलांच्या हट्टीपणावर काहीही इलाज नसतो…”
“म्हणून काय…. पाणी??”
“ते फक्त एक मिडीयम आहे…ते देण्याची पद्धत नीट observe करा..सकाळी अर्धा तास पाच पाच मिनिटांनी ते द्यायचं, तेही उन्हात…म्हणजे आई त्या मुलाला घेऊन जरा बाहेर पडेल, त्याला आईची सोबत मिळेल…संध्याकाळीही तेच…5-10 मिनिटांनी औषध द्यायचं म्हणजे आईला आणि वडिलांना त्याच्याजवळच थांबावं लागेल…आणि हाच खरा इलाज आहे..”
“समजलं नाही..”
“त्या मुलाचं रुटीन पाहिलं…त्याला सगळं मिळत होतं पण आई वडिलांची सोबत, त्यांचं प्रेम, त्यांचा वेळ त्याला मिळत नव्हता…लहान मुलं प्रेमाचे भुकेले असतात…त्यांना जर ते मिळालं नाही तर ते चिडचिड करतात…आता बघा, त्या मुलाला त्याच्या आई वडिलांची सोबत जास्त वेळ मिळेल आणि त्याचा चिडचिडेपणा कसा कमी होतो ते…”

“मॅडम तुमचे पाय दाखवा…नाही खरंच दाखवाच….असं पाणी पाजून बरं करणारी डॉक्टर पहिल्यांदा पाहिला मी..”
