 “पाच मिनिटापूर्वी टोपलंभर भांडी घासली, तरी सिंक मध्ये चार ग्लास आलेच..तिथेच खुर्ची टाकून बसावं आता..”

गिरिजाची ही चिडचिड रोहनला नवीन नव्हती. तिचे सर्व डायलॉग एव्हाना त्याचे पाठही झाले होते. तो अजून अंघोळीला बसला नव्हता, त्यामुळे पुढील पाच मिनिटात हा डायलॉग ऐकू येणार..

“पटापट अंघोळीच करत नाहीत ही लोकं, 4 वाजेपर्यंत मशीनच चालू द्यायचं..”

रोहन हा डायलॉग ऐकू येईपर्यंत अंघोळीला काही जात नसे. आजही तो डायलॉग कानावर पडला अन मगच त्याच्या अंघोळीची वेळ झाली. 

“संध्याकाळी काय करू जेवायला?”

“काहीही कर..”

“असं म्हणायचं अन समोर आलेलं ताट बघून नाक मुरडायचं.. त्यापेक्षा आत्ताच सांगून द्या..”

रोहन मोठ्या जोशात सांगतो..

“सांबर, वडा आणि डोसा..”

गिरीजाचा राग अजून वाढतो, 

“मुद्दाम सांगा असलं..डोश्याचं पीठ असं ऐनवेळी बनतं का? एक दिवस आधी बनवावं लागतं.. जाऊदे, बघते मी काय करायचं ते..हा डबा न्या आठवणीने..”

रोहन तयारी करून डबा घेऊन ऑफीसला निघतो, गाडीची चावी घरातच राहिली असं लक्षात येतं. आधीच उशीर झालेला असतो..रोहन शूज न काढता झपझप पावलं टाकत आत येतो आणि पटकन चावी घेऊन पसार होतो..

“अहो खुशाल बुट घालून झाडून पुसलेल्या फरशीवर येतात…तुम्हाला काही..”

या डायलॉग पासून सुटका म्हणून रोहन पटकन पसार होतो. ऑफिसला पोचताच त्याला समजतं की आज केशव सर आले आहेत. केशव सर म्हणजे बोर्ड ऑफ डिरेक्टर मधील एक, म्हणजे  बॉसच. तो कधी काय करायला सांगेन याचा भरवसा नसायचा. तो आला म्हणजे सर्वांची धांदल उडे. 

आज त्याने नेमकं राहुल च्या डिपार्टमेंट मध्ये पाय ठेवला. केशव सर आले आणि सर्वजण उठून उभे राहिले. 

“Thanks बडीज.. प्लिज सीट..”

आता पुढ्यात काय वाढून ठेवलंय म्हणून सर्वांना घाबरायला होतं. केशव सर नजर सर्व स्टाफवर फिरवतात. आणि रोहन कडे बघून म्हणतात..

“Hey you.. come here..”

झालं कल्याण..

रोहन त्यांच्या समोर जाऊन उभा राहतो. 

“तर..आपल्या कंपनीत आपण मेहनत करताय, काम करताय हे सगळं तर आहेच..पण आपण डेडिकेशन किती देतोय कामात हे कसं कळणार??”

नेहमीप्रमाणे न समजणारा प्रश्न त्यांनी विचारला अन स्टाफ गप बसून राहिला. केशव सर म्हणाले. 

“Ok सोप्या शब्दात सांगतो.. मिस्टर रोहन, तुमचा रेकॉर्ड खूप चांगला आहे. तुम्ही मन लावून काम केलंत त्यात तुमचं कंपनी साठी असलेलं डेडिकेशन दिसून आलं. आज तुम्ही सर्वांना एक प्रेझेंटेशन द्यायचं आहे..विषय आहे- what is dedication..”

झालं, रोहनच्या दुखऱ्या जागेवर बोट ठेवला गेला. समोर येऊन बोलायची हिम्मत त्याला कधीच नव्हती. शाळा कॉलेजमध्ये असलं काही सांगितलं की त्याच्या पोटात गोळा यायचा. पण आज ते करणं भाग होतं.

रोहनला समोर उभं करून केशव सर खुर्चीवर जाऊन बसतात आणि म्हणतात..

“करा सुरू..”

रोहनला समजेना काय बोलावं. पण त्याने मेंदूला ताण दिला..काय असतं dedication? कुठे दिसलं आपल्याला ते? आपल्या आसपास?? की..आपल्याच घरात??”

रोहनच्या मनात घरातले प्रसंग उभे राहू लागले आणि तो आपोआप बोलू लागतो..

“डेडिकेशन..लख्ख भांडी घडून अन पुसून स्वच्छ केलेल्या सिंक मध्ये चार खरकटी भांडी येउन पडतात तेव्हा घशातच काहीतरी अडकल्यासारखं वाटणं म्हणजे डेडिकेशन…”

“सूर्याची हजेरी असेस्तोवर त्याच्याकडून कपडे कडक वाळवून घेण्याचं काम म्हणजे डेडिकेशन..”

“स्वच्छ फरशीवर कुणी बाहेरचे शूज घालून चालत गेला तर अगदी  हृदयातच खड्डा पडल्यासारखं वाटणं म्हणजे डेडिकेशन..”

“संपूर्ण घर नीट आवरलं जात नाही तोवर मन थाऱ्यावर नसणं म्हणजे डेडिकेशन..”

“एक प्रहरीचं जेवण करत असताना दुसऱ्या प्रहरी ताटात काय असावं याची चिंता म्हणजे डेडिकेशन… डेडिकेशन म्हणजे एखाद्या स्त्री चं घराबद्दल असलेलं समर्पण… ती घराशी इतकी एकरूप होऊन जाते की घरातील एखादं काम अपूर्ण असणं तिला स्वतःचीच अपूर्णता वाटते..आणि ते पूर्ण केल्याशिवाय स्वतःला पूर्णत्वाचा अनुभव येऊ देत नाही…हे खरं डेडिकेशन… ही कंपनी आपलं घरच आहे, त्याच्या प्रगतीसाठी आपण हेच करायला हवं. कंपनीची अडचण आपण आपली अडचण समजून काम करायला हवं..”

रोहनचं बोलून झालं अन टाळ्यांचा गडगडाट झाला. इतके दिवस  गिरीजाची चिडचिड दिसत होती..पण आज समर्पण दिसलं..घरी गेल्यावर कधी एकदा हे गिरीजाला सांगतो असं झालं..

“शुज बाहेर काढा..हात पाय धुवा…मी गरम गरम डोसा करून आणते..”

रोहन हात पाय धुतो, टेबलापाशी खुर्ची घेऊन बसतो. समोर ताट येतं..  तो गिरीजाला म्हणतो..

“तुला माहितीये.. आज..” त्याचं लक्ष ताटाकडे जातं..सांबार, डोसा बघून तो हसतो..

“फक्त डेडिकेशन नाही…मॅनेजमेंट काय असते तेही सांगायला हवं होतं..”

4. निकालाच्या वेळी भाषा, व्याकरण, विषयानुरूप लेखन या सर्वांचा विचार करून क्रमांक दिले जातील. 
5. सहभागी प्रत्येक लेखकाला एक सन्मानचिन्ह दिले जाईल 
6. कादंबरी साठी मिळालेल्या views नुसार दरमहा मानधनही दिले जाईल.
7. शीर्षकात #मराठी_कादंबरी असा उल्लेख असावा.
8. कथामालिका अर्धवट सोडून जाता येणार नाही. 
9. गरज भासली तर अंतिम तारीख काही दिवस वाढवून देण्याचे अधिकार ईरा टीम कडे असतील.
