बेडसाठी शौनकच्या मित्रांची आणि भावाची धावपळ सुरू होती. शौनकचा रिपोर्ट आजच पोजिटिव्ह आलेला आणि त्रास अचानक वाढू लागला. टेस्ट केल्यावर 15 स्कोर आला आणि डॉक्टरनी ऍडमिट व्हायला सांगितलं. बेड ची आधीच मारामार, प्रायव्हेट मध्ये कसाबसा मिळाला..मित्रांनी अर्धे अर्धे पैसे भरून बेड बुक केला. मित्राला फोन केला तसा त्याचा भाऊ आणि त्याचे वडील त्याला घेऊन आले.
शौनकला आत नेण्यात आलं, ऍडमिट करून घेतलं. त्याचे मित्र, भाऊ आणि वडील बाहेरच उभे. आसपासची परिस्थिती बघून अजूनच घाबरले. एकमेकात चर्चा करू लागले..
“अवघड झाली आहे परिस्थिती.. बेडच शिल्लक नाहीये आता..”
“सरकार कमी पडत आहे सगळी सोय करायला.. लोकांनी कुणापुढे हात पसरायचे आता?”
“कालच माझा मामेभाऊ गेला या आजाराने, चांगला तरुण माणूस..”
“माझी लांबची एक बहीण..दोन पोरांना पोरकं करून गेली..”
“देवा, तूच वाचव रे आता सर्वांना..”
सर्वजण एकमेकांपासून दूर उभे राहून बोलत होते. शौनकच्या वडिलांना उठायला बसायला त्रास होत होता, ते आसपास जे असतील त्यांची मदत ते घेत होते. त्यांनी बाकड्यावर बसून घेतलं, मास्क काढून मोकळा श्वास घेतला. खोकलून खोकलून दम लागला होता त्यांना..
“काका तुम्ही कशाला आलात? आम्ही शौनकला ऍडमिट केलं असतं सगळे मिळून…”
“होना काका..बरं तुम्हाला काही त्रास नाही ना?”
“अरे 4 दिवसांपासून खोकला येतोय..”
सर्व मित्र घाबरले, शौनकचा भाऊ म्हणाला..
“अरे वडिलांचा रिपोर्टही पोजिटीव्ह आहे..कालच आला रिपोर्ट..”
मित्रांना त्याक्षणी त्या भावाच्या कानाखाली आवाज काढू वाटला. जिथे कोरोनाने माणसं मरताय तिथे ही लोकं अशी पसरवण्याची कामं करताय आणि वर सरकारला दोष..शौनक लहान बाळ नव्हता ज्याला ऍडमिट करण्यासाठी वडिलांना सोबत यायची गरज होती..भाऊही चांगला शिकलेला असून वडिलांना स्प्रेडर म्हणून घेऊन फिरत होता..
किती काळ सरकारला दोष देणार?
खरंय. लोक मूर्ख आहेत. आम्ही दीड महिन्या पूर्वी एकांकडे फोन करून गेलो, तो माणूस आदल्या दिवशी quarantine मधून बाहेर आला होता, पण त्याने आम्हाला सांगितले नाही. वर जाताना आम्हाला स्वतःच्या गाडीतून स्वतः सोडले. ही गोष्ट आम्हाला नंतर बाहेरून कळली. नशीब,आम्हाला काही झाले नाही.
