 आशा आवाज ऐकून फोनवर बोलतच बाहेर आली…

अनुराधा आणि भाऊंना पाहून तिने हसत स्वागत केलं आणि फोनवर हात ठेवून म्हणाली..

“दादा वहिनी 2 मिनिट हा फक्त, कामाचा फोन आहे हा..बोलणं झालं की आलेच मी..”

अनुराधाला आता चक्कर यायचीच बाकी होती,

 

आशाने खुशाल ड्रेस घातला होता, आणि वर कुठेतरी कामालाही जात होती असं दिसून आलं. 

थोड्या वेळाने आशा बाहेर आली, 

तिने सर्वांची विचारपूस केली आणि सासूबाईंना म्हणाली,

“आई, मी मसाला दळून ठेवलाय तेवढी फोडणी फक्त देऊन द्या..”

अनुराधा पुन्हा धक्क्यात..

तीच उठली आणि म्हणाली,

“मी टाकते की फोडणी..”

“अहो मीच टाकली असती जाउबाई पण आईंच्या हातची रस्सा भाजी कुणालाच नाही जमत..

आणि त्याचीच सवय झालीये आता..”

अनुराधाला हे सगळं धक्कादायक होतं.

 तिला असंही समजलं की आशा पार्ट टाइम कुठेतरी नोकरी करत होती, 

नोकरीवर खुशाल जीन्स शर्ट वर जात असे आणि घरात कामाला 2 बायकाही लावल्या होत्या, 

कपडेही आता मशीनमध्ये धुतले जायचे.

संध्याकाळी दोन्ही जावा निवांत गच्चीवर जमल्या, 

अनुराधाला केव्हा एकदा आशाला याबद्दल विचारते असं झालं..

“ए आशा, अगं मी इतक्या काळजीत होते की मला वाटायचं घरची लोकं तुलाही किती बंधनात ठेवतील म्हणून..

तुला किती त्रास होत असेल या विचाराने मला धडकी भरायची गं..”

“जाउबाई मला समजलंय सगळं, माझ्या आधी तुम्हाला कोणत्या दिव्यातून जावं लागलेलं ते..”

“दिव्य नाही अग्निपरीक्षा होती ती ..पण तू मात्र? कसं काय? तू मनासारखे कपडे घालतेस, नोकरी करतेस, कामाला बायका लावल्या..कसं ऐकलं घरच्यांनी??”

“जाउबाई, कसं असतं ना की एखाद्याच्या आयुष्यात नवीन कुणीतरी व्यक्ती आली की सुरवातीला त्याची पारख केली जाते..

पारख या अर्थाने की समोरचा आपलं किती ऐकू शकतो? 

आपल्या रागावर काय प्रतिक्रिया देऊ शकतो? 

आपल्या शब्दाबाहेर जाऊ शकतो की नाही आणि आपल्या ताब्यात राहू शकतो की नाही?.. 

तुम्ही या घरात आलात तेव्हा तुम्ही गपगुमान फक्त मान डोलवत राहिलात, 

ते सांगतील ती पूर्व दिशा असं समजत गेलात

 आणि मग त्यांच्या लक्षात आलं की ही आपल्या पिंजऱ्यात पूर्णपणे बंदिस्त झालीये, आणि म्हणून हे सगळं तुमच्या बाबतीत घडलं..”

“होय, बरोबर आहे..पण मग तू असं काय केलं?”

“सुरवातीला जेव्हा त्यांनी मला कपड्यांबद्दल बोलायला सुरुवात केली तेव्हा मी तीव्र विरोध केला..

मी असेच कपडे घालणार, मला माझ्या व्यक्तिस्वातंत्र्यावर बाधा आलेली चालणार नाही असं स्पष्ट सांगितलं..

2 दिवस बोलले नाहीत पण नंतर झाले नॉर्मल.. 

घरकामाला बायका लावताना, नोकरी करताना सुदधा त्यांनी विरोध केलाच.. 

पण मी ठाम होते, स्पष्ट सांगितले की माझ्याकडून सर्व गोष्टी शक्य नाहीत..

वाद झाले, 

कटकट झाली पण मी ठाम राहिले…

आणि म्हणूनच आज मोकळेपणाने श्वास घेतेय..

वहिनी, दुसऱ्याला मोकळा श्वास मिळावा यासाठी आपणच किती घुसमट करून घ्यावी? 

प्रत्येक मुलीने सुरवातीलाच आपल्या अपेक्षा आणि तत्व खंबीरपणे समोर केली तर आयुष्यभर ती पूर्ण करता न आल्याचा पश्चाताप राहणार नाही..”

आशाला मनाजोगतं जगायला मिळत होतं, 

आणि सोबतच तिला एक धडाही मिळाला…

समोरच्याला वाईट वाटू नये म्हणून आपण स्वतःवर कितीतरी बंधनं लादून घेतो… 

पण त्यामुळे आपल्याला किती वाईट वाटेल याचा विचार जर समोरचा करत नसेल तर सुरवातीलाच बंड पुकारून आपले अधिकार खेचून आणलेले केव्हाही योग्य…

वेळ गेल्यानंतर अधिकारांसाठी रडत बसण्यापेक्षा सुरवातीलाच आपल्या अधिकारांसाठी बंड पुकारलेलं कधीही चांगलं..

आजही नवीन लग्न झालेल्या मुलींना सल्ला दिला जातो..

“ते सांगतील तेच करायचं, ते म्हणतील तसं वागायचं, त्यांना जे आवडेल तसंच सगळं असू द्यायचं…

उलट उत्तर द्यायचं नाही, 

काही म्हटले तर ऐकून घ्यायचं, शांत राहायचं…. 

आणि यामुळेच मग अनुराधा सारख्या घुसमट होत असलेल्या स्त्रिया जन्माला येतात…

त्यापेक्षा लहान जाऊ प्रमाणे वेळीच आपल्या अधिकारांची जाणीव समोरच्याला करून दिली, 

वेळीच आपला खमकीपणा दाखवला तर आयुष्यभर रडत बसायची वेळ येणार नाही..”
