24 तास अनुराधा वर नजर असे. एका कामात सासू दहा चुका काढत असे,

त्यात आई वडिलांचा उद्धार आणि टोमणे वेगळेच.

एकदा अनुराधा ने नवऱ्यासोबत बाहेर जायचं म्हणून साडी ऐवजी ड्रेस घातला होता तर घरच्यांनी कहर केलं होतं.

अनुराधाच्या नवऱ्याला बाहेरच्या नोकरीची ऑफर आली आणि अनुराधाचा जीव भांड्यात पडला.

नवीन शहरात अनुराधा मनाप्रमाणे वागत होती,

मोकळा श्वास घेत होती,

पण तिला आशा ची सतत काळजी वाटायची,

आपल्या नंतर ती घरात आली, मी तर सुटले पण तिच्या बाबतीतही तेच सगळं घडलं असणार, कसं सहन करत असेल ती?

कशी रहात असेल? किती घुसमट होत असेल तिची?

मी ऐकून घेतलं,

सहन केलं खरं पण तिलाही सहन झालं असावं का? कसं करत असेल ती सगळं?

एरवी दोघींचं फोनवर मोजकच बोलणं व्हायचं,

सासूबाई समोर असल्याने आशाला मोकळेपणाने बोलताही येत नसावं असं असा अनुराधा अंदाज बांधून घेई.

दिवाळीत अनुराधा आणि तिचा नवरा आपल्या सासरच्या घरी पोहोचले,

गेटवरच अनुराधाने डोक्यावर पदर घेतला आणि गेल्या गेल्या सासू सासऱ्यांचा पाया ती पडली.

तिची नजर आशाला शोधत होती, ती काही दिसत नव्हती..

मग सासूबाईंनीच तिला आवाज दिला..

“आशा…अगं जरा येतेय का?”

सासूबाईंच्या तोंडून इतके मधाळ शब्द ऐकून अनुराधा अवाक झाली, एरवी अनुराधा एका हाकेवर यायची नाही तेव्हा “अनुराधा ssss… येते का लवकर..” असा सूर असायचा.
