“मी..दिसतेय की तुला समोर..”

त्याला आपल्या मनातील सल कळावी ही तीही अपेक्षा फोल ठरली,

“पुढच्या महिन्यात लग्न आहे माझं..काय, शेवटी माझ्या सगळ्या मित्र मैत्रिणींची लग्न झाली..मीही उरकून घेऊ म्हणतो..”

असं म्हणत तो त्याच्या मोबाईल मधले होणाऱ्या बायकोचे फोटो तिला दाखवू लागला..

तिला दुसरा धक्का बसला,

हे सांगतांना त्याच्या मनात चलबिचल नव्हती, कसलाही गोंधळ नव्हता, जणू काही घडलंच नाही अश्या आविर्भावात तो बोलत होता..

तिला वाटलेलं,

जुन्या आठवणी, त्यांचं नातं, त्याचा आयुष्यावर झालेला परिणाम यावर तो काही बोलेल,

पण तो?……असो!

त्याला एक फोन आला तसं त्याने आवरतं घेतलं,

“बरं चल येऊ का मी?”

“हो..” मनावरचं सगळं ओझं उतरल्याचा भास झाला आणि ती एका झटक्यात हो म्हणाली,

तो उठला आणि निघाला,

एकदाही मागे वळून पाहिलं नाही,

ती विचारात गढून गेली,

तेवढ्यात तिचा नवरा तिथे आला,

ती त्याला म्हणाली,

“काय होतं हे? कुणी सांगितलं हे असं करायला?”

तो हसला,

“हसायला काय झालं?”

“आज खूप दिवसांनी माझी मूळ बायको मला मिळाली, या ठेक्यात किती दिवस झालेले तू बोलली नव्हतीस”

“मी काय विचारतेय त्याचं तरी उत्तर द्या..”

“गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून तू कुठेतरी हरवलेली जाणवत होतीस मला, मला कारण समजायला वेळ लागला नाही…आणि त्यावरच तोडगा म्हणून हे भेट घडवून आणली मी..”

“जगातला पहिला नवरा असेल असा..”

“असेलही, तू माझी सहचारिणी आहेस, तू मनानेही माझ्यासोबत असावं यासाठी हा प्रयत्न केला मी..”

“यातून काय मिळालं?”

“मला जे हवं होतं ते साध्य झालं.. काय म्हणाला तो?”

“तो? नालायक माणूस आहे खरंच, इतकं रुक्ष बोलत होता जसं आम्ही कुणीच नव्हतो एकमेकांचे..”

“आणि एक तू, त्याच्या आठवणीत झुरत होतीस…तुला वाटलेलं तोही तुझ्या आठवणीत रडत असेल..”

या संवादाने ती काहीशी वरमली, आपण जे बोलतोय ते बोलणं योग्य नाहीये हे तिला समजत होतं पण ओघाओघाने बोलून गेली ती…

“हे बघ, आम्ही पुरुष असतो ना..त्या त्या गोष्टी तिथेच सोडून देत असतो…जुन्या गोष्टी घेऊन पुढे चालत नसतो…

आणि स्त्रियांचा स्वभाव असा की त्या अडकून पडतात कुठल्याही गोष्टीत..आज मला हेच दाखवून द्यायचं होतं.. की ज्याच्यामुळे तू स्वतःला हरवून बसत होतीस त्याला त्या जुन्या नात्याबद्दल, आठवणींबद्दल जराही कदर नाहीये…तुमचं नातं एक टाईमपास समजून तो पुढे गेलाय…आणि तू उगाच त्याच्या आठवणीत स्वतःचा वर्तमान वाया घालवते आहेस..”

तो 100% खरं बोलत होता…

हवं असतं तर तो बायकोशी भांडला असता, तिला जाब विचारला असता..पण खरा जीवनसाथी तोच जो आपल्या मनातली सल न सांगता ओळखून त्यावर शांतपणे वास्तववादी विचारांनी तोडगा काढेल..

त्याक्षणी तिला जाणीव झाली,

भूतकाळ व्यर्थ आहे,

वर्तमानकाळ शाश्वत आहे…

वर्तमानच सत्य आहे, आणि तेच सुंदर आहे…
