 हा तोच लेहेंगा, बहिणीसाठी बाजूला काढलेला..

“ताई तो साधा आहे, हा बघा ना हा किती सुंदर आहे..”

“नाही मला तोच बघायचा आहे..”

त्यांचं बोलणं मॅनेजर ने ऐकलं..

“विकास काय चाललंय? दाखव ना ग्राहक विचारताय तर..”

त्याने मान खाली घालत तो लेहेंगा दाखवला..

बघताक्षणी मुलीला पसंत पडला..

“हा करा फायनल..”

विकासला धस्स झालं..

बहिणीला सांगून ठेवलेलं, ती आतुरतेने याच लेहेंग्याची वाट बघत होती…

तो लेहेंगा तिच्या हाती देताना त्याचा हात मंदावलेला..

बिल करायला ते जोडपं काउंटर वर गेलेलं…

इकडे मॅनेजरने विकासला धारेवर धरलं..

“काय रे? काय प्रकार चाललेला हा?”

“साहेब, तो लेहेंगा मी माझ्या बहिणीसाठी काढून ठेवलेला..”

“तू? आणि विकत घेणार होतास? अरे तुझी लायकी तरी आहे का विकत घ्यायची? तुझं कमिशन आणि दोन महिन्याचा पगार टाकला तरी येणार नाही तो…”

विकासला खूप वाईट वाटलं…

जिने लेहेंगा घेतला तिची पर्स आत राहिलेली म्हणून ती तिथे आली होती आणि तिने सगळं बोलणं ऐकलं होतं… ऐकून ती बाहेर गेली, बिल केलं आणि दोघेही निघून गेले…

तेवढ्यात त्याची बहीण आली डबा घेऊन…

“दादा, अरे डबा विसरलेला तू आज..हे घे..”

बहिणीला पाहून त्याला अजूनच भरून आलं..

तिची नजर सर्व लेहेंग्यावर पडत होती,

तिच्या मनात एकेक रंग भरत होते पण परिस्थितीची जाणीव होताच ती नजर चोरत असे..

पण शेवटी स्त्री मन, सुंदरता…मोहकता.. रंग.. याकडे आकर्षिले जाणारच..

विकास म्हणाला,

“तू हवा तो घेऊन देणार मी…तू बोल फक्त” त्याने स्वतःशी निश्चय केला..

“अरे दादा पुन्हा कशाला? तू आधीच घेऊन दिलाय ना मला?”

“मी? कधी?”

“अरे बाहेर एक मुलगा आणि मुलगी आलेले…त्यांनी माझ्या हातात तो लेहेंगा दिला…म्हणाले तुझ्या भावाने तुझ्यासाठी घेतलाय, आम्ही सहज तो उजेडात बघण्यासाठी बाहेर आणलेला…खूप छान आहे हो…मला असाच हवा होता…thank you दादा..”

तिच्या डोळ्यात आनंद दिसत होता..

विकासला कळेना काय झालंय..

मग त्याचा एक सहकारी मित्र तिथे आला, त्याने विकासाला बाजूला नेऊन सगळं सांगितलं..

“मघाशी ते जोडपं एका मोठ्या अपघातापासून वाचलं..तुझ्या बहिणीने मागे खेचलं होतं त्यांना…त्या मुलीने मॅनेजर आणि तुझं बोलणंही इथे येऊन ऐकलेलं…बाहेर जाऊन त्यांनी लेहेंग्यचं बिल भरलं आणि सांगितलं की हा लेहेंगा त्या विकासला द्या…तुझ्यासाठी हा विकत घेऊन ते निघून गेले…”

विकासचे डोळे भरून आले..

आणि बहिणीला तिचा आवडता लेहेंगा मिळाला…

चांगुलपणाचं फळ परत फिरून कोणत्या मार्गाने आपल्याकडे येईल सांगता येत नाही हेच खरं !
