जवळचे सगळे पैसे, सोन्याची चेन त्यांना देऊन सोडायची विनंती केली,

“एवढ्यात काय होणार? खरा माल अजून लांबच आहे..”

त्याला त्यांचा रोख समजला,

तो चिडला,

त्यानेही झटापट केली पण एकाने डोक्यात मारलं तसा तो बेशुद्ध पडला..

ती जिवाच्या आकांताने ओरडू लागली,

पण जवळपास कुणीही नव्हतं,

त्यांनी तिला ओढत नेलं,

तिच्यावर अत्याचार केला, तिला ओरबाडलं..

तिला तसंच जंगलात टाकून ते निघून गेले,

इकडे त्याला जाग आली, तो तिला शोधू लागला..

आवाज देत देत जंगलात पोचला..

ती सुन्न अवस्थेत पडली होती,

कपडे छिन्नविच्छिन्न झालेले..

त्याला समजलं काय झालं ते..

ती त्याला पाहून रडू लागली,

त्याला घट्ट पकडलं,

कितीतरी वेळ त्याची वाट पहात होती,

तो दिसला तशी ती सावरली,

त्यांने तिची पकड सैल केली,

गाडीजवळ नेलं,

तो काही बोलायला तयार नव्हता,

अखेर तिने म्हटलं,

जे झालं ते विसरून जण्यातच अर्थ आहे,

घरी कळलं तर …

ती रडू लागली,

तो शांतच..

त्या दिवशी ती मैत्रिणीकडे थांबली,

दुसऱ्या दिवशी घरी गेल्यावर तिच्या घरचे तिला विचारू लागले,

“काय भांडण झालं तुमच्यात? मूलकडच्यांनी लग्नाला नकार दिलाय..”

ती मटकन खाली बसली,

तिला समजलं,

त्याला अशी बलात्कारित बायको नको होती,

जे झालं त्यात तिची काहीही चूक नव्हती, त्यालाही माहीत होतं.

पण अशी विटाळलेली बायको आता तो स्वीकारायला तयार नव्हता,

अनेक वर्षांचे असलेले नाते त्याने संपवले,

ती कोसळली,

जे झालं ते घरी खरं खरं सांगितलं,

घरचे म्हणाले,

“जो तुला कठीण परिस्थितीत सोडून देतो त्याचं खरं रूप आज कळलं, ते बरंच झालं..आता मागचं सगळं सोड..”

तिने त्या परिस्थितीतुन बाहेर येण्याचं ठरवलं,

तिचं स्वप्न पूर्ण करायचं ठरवलं,

लग्न, प्रेम हा विषयच सोडून दिला…

3 वर्षे उलटली,

त्याने स्वतःचा संसार थाटला,

त्याचं मजेत सुरू होतं,

त्याच्या आईला फोन आला,

“ताई, कार्तिकचं लग्न आहे..नक्की यायचं बरं का..”

त्याच्या मामांनी त्यांना लग्नाला बोलवलेलं,

कार्तिक तोच, मोठा बिझनेसमन..

इतक्या वर्षांनी मामांनी जुने वाद विसरून मामांनी संपर्क केला,

त्यांना बरं वाटलं..

अश्या यशस्वी कार्तिक ची बायको कशी असेल सर्वांना उत्सुकता होती..

लग्नाच्या ठिकाणी सगळे पोचले,

आलिशान हॉल,

उच्चवर्गीय सगळी माणसं..

श्रीमंती बघून डोळे दिपून जावे..

लग्नाच्या वेळी सर्वजण स्टेजवर बघत होते,

कार्तिक माळा घेऊन उभा होता,

त्याने भटजींना थांबवलं,
