गणपतरावांना चिडायला काय झालं? ती दुर्लक्ष करते आणि कुस बदलून झोपी जाते…
गणपतरावांना पहाटे पहाटे ते स्वप्न पडलं आणि त्यांना पुढे झोपच लागली नाही, सकाळचे 7 वाजले, बायको उठली आणि कामाला निघून गेली. गणपतराव खोलीतच येरझारा मारत होते…मधेच पडलेल्या स्वप्नाची त्यांना भीती वाटे, मधेच मनाची समजूत घालत स्वतःशीच हसत होते…
गणपतराव तयार होतात… आज पुन्हा प्रचार रॅली साठी जायचं होतं..श्रीपती खोलीत येतो…साहेब, आज जातेगावमध्ये सभा आहे…तिथली लोकं फार गरीब, पैसा फेकला की मतांचा पाऊस सूरु होईल..
गणपतरावांचं श्रीपती च्या बोलण्याकडे लक्षच नसतं… ते अजून विचारातच गुंग होते..
“गणपतराव?”
“अं? हो हो..हो पुढे, आलोच…”
गणपतराव कशीबशी तयारी करतात, बाहेर जायला दार उघडतात…आणि तितक्याच वेगाने बंद करून दाराला पाठ टेकवून उभे राहतात…
सानिका दारात उभी होती, तिला पाहून गणपतरावांची भीतीने गाळण उडाली..
“ही इथे? स्वप्न तर नाही ना परत?”
गणपतराव थरथरत पुन्हा दार उघडतात..
सानिका उभी राहून हसत असते..
“तू??”
“फॉर्म भरायला नेणार होतात ना मला? विसरलात?”
सानिका ने खरंच मनावर घेतलं होतं…
“चेष्टा करतेय ना?”
“नाही…ते काम तुमचं…जनतेची चेष्टा करण्याचं..”
इतक्यात श्रीपती आणि बबन धावून येतात,
“काय झालं?”
“कुठे होतात? काल मला तुम्ही सांगितलेलं की फॉर्म भरायला माझ्या सोबत याल म्हणून?”
दोघेही चक्रावतात…श्रीपती धीर करत म्हणतो..
“फार हौस आलीये तुला..चल…भरून टाकू तुझा फॉर्म..”
“साहेब, चला…माज उतरवला पाहिजे हिचा… निवडणुकीत 4-5 मतं मिळाली की कशी इज्जत जाते बघा हिची..”
बबन बोलतो तसा गणपतरावांना हायसं वाटतं… त्यांचं ओझं हलकं होतं..
“चला…”
सगळेजण गाडीत बसतात आणि फॉर्म भरायच्या ठिकाणी जातात..
“पाटील साहेब, एका उमेदवाराचा अर्ज भरायचा आहे..”
“गणपत रावांचा फॉर्म तर भरलाय ना?”
“हो..एका पोरीचा भरायचा आहे…खाज आलीये तिला …सत्तेची..”

सानिका हे बोलताच मागे उभे असलेले कार्यकर्ते हसायला लागतात…
“याशिवाय कधी राजकारण होतं का…बिना प्रचार राजकारण म्हणे…कोण मतं देईल हिला?”
“समजेलच… लवकर…आता ठिणगी पडलीये, वणवा पेटणार… आजवर कधीही झाला नाही असा इतिहास घडणार… सर्वांना अपेक्षित असा आमूलाग्र बदल घडणार… जे कधीही झालं नाही, ते आज होणार….”
सानिका आवेशात बोलत होती.. एकेक वाक्याला गणपतरावांची धडधड वाढत असते…
सानिका तिथून निघून जाते..कार्यकर्ते गणपतरावांजवळ येतात..
“साहेब..असल्या पोकळ धमक्यांना भीक घालायची नाही..चला, आपण आपल्या कामाला निघुया…”
सगळेजण प्रचारासाठी निघून जातात..
सानिका घरच्या वाटेने परतत असते…तिथुन एक पांगळा व्यक्ती जात असतो, एका गाडीची त्याला धडक लागते तसा तो खाली पडतो, गाडीवाला त्याचकडे पाहतही नाही अन निघून जातो..सानिका त्या व्यक्तीजवळ जाते, त्याची चौकशी करते आणि त्याला रिक्षातून घरी पोहोचवते…
सानिका घरी येते, देवाच्या आणि आई वडिलांच्या पाया पडते…
“भगवंता… आज मी आयुष्याला खूप मोठा निर्णय घेतलाय..स्वच्छ मनाने आणि चांगल्या हेतूने मी राजकारणात उतरतेय…माझं पुढचं पाऊल काय असेल, मी कसं हे सगळं निभावून नेईन मला माहित नाही..मला बळ दे…”
सानिका देवाला नमस्कार करून आपल्या खोलीत येते..
कितीही समजूत घातली तरी गणपतरावांच्या मनातलं भय काही निघत नाही…ते सानिका च्या हालचालींवर लक्ष ठेवण्यासाठी एक हेर नेमतात…
इकडे सानिका विचार करत असते…आता पुढे काय करायचं…
प्रचार करायचा नाही..लोकांना पोकळ आश्वासनं द्यायची नाही..मग लोकांपर्यंत पोहोचायचं कसं? लोकांना आपल्या बद्दल माहिती तर द्यायला हवी..माझा स्वच्छ हेतू लोकांना कळायला हवा…पण मार्ग कुठला निवडावा?

तिने प्रथम घराच्या एका खोलीला आपलं ऑफिस बनवलं..ऑफिस बनवताना तिने कुणालाही त्यात सामील केलं नाही, एकटीने सर्व रचना केली…तिला असं काय करायचं होतं कोण जाणे…तिने ऑफिस ची रचना गुप्त ठेवली..
ऑफिस मध्ये 3 लॅपटॉप आणून ठेवले आणि 3 लोकांना मदतीला घेतलं…
