बिल्डींग च्या सेक्रेटरी ने आदेशच काढला होता..आपल्या फ्लॅट मध्ये एकही कोरोना पॉसिटीव्ह असता कामा नये, सर्वांनी आवश्यक ती काळजी घ्यावी. सर्वजण एकदम सतर्क होते..काहीही झालं तरी बिल्डींग मध्ये या आजाराचा शिरकाव होऊ द्यायचा नाही असं सर्वांनी ठरवलं होतं..
1 महिना गेला, 2 महिने गेले.. बिल्डिंग सुरक्षित होती… सर्वांना काहीतरी जिंकल्याचा भास झाला…पण इतक्यात एक ऍम्ब्युलन्स बिल्डिंग समोर आली आणि थेट सिस्टर बबिता च्या घरी घुसली. बबिता ला ऍम्ब्युलन्स मध्ये नेण्यात आलं… बिल्डिंग मधली सर्व लोकं खिडकीतून बघत होती…पूर्ण बिल्डिंग वर, जिन्यात फवारा मारण्यात आला… वातावरण अगदी तंग झालं होतं… बिल्डिंग मधले सर्वजण एव्हाना चिडले होते..
“ही असली घाण राहतेच कशाला बिल्डिंग मध्ये…”
“आमच्या घरात लहान मुलं आहेत…या असल्या लोकांमुळे आमचा जीव धोक्यात येतो..”
“एकामुळे पूर्ण बिल्डींग ला गालबोट लागलं…बिल्डिंग सील केली…आता काही आणायची सोय राहिली नाही…तरी मी म्हणत होती की या बाईला आधी बाहेर काढा….पण ऐकलं नाही कुणी..”
सेक्रेटरी महाशय तर आता सिस्टर बबिता ला हाकलून लावण्याच्या पूर्ण तयारीत होते…तिला परत इथे येउच देणार नाही, तिचं सामान माणसं बोलवून पोचतं करायला सांगू…
बबिताला ऍडमिट करण्यात आलं…मिस्टर मुंबई ला असल्याने तिची काळजी घेणारं तसं कुणी नव्हतं.. निदान बरी झाल्यावर तिला घरी न्यायलाही कुणी तयार नव्हतं… हॉस्पिटलमधून तिच्या शेजारच्यांना तिला बाहेरूनच डबा देण्याबद्दल विचारलं पण कुणीही तयार होईना…
हॉस्पिटल स्टाफ ने तिची जास्तीत जास्त काळजी घेतली, ती पूर्ण बरी झाल्यावर ऍम्ब्युलन्स तिला घरी सोडायला आली… तिला वाटलं होतं की इतरांप्रमाणे तिचंही कोरोनाशी लढून आल्यावर दिमाखात स्वागत होईल..पण..
सेक्रेटरी महाशयांनी लांबूनच सांगितलं..
“तुम्हाला आता बिल्डींग मध्ये प्रवेश देता येणार नाही, सर्व रहिवाशांची तशीच ईच्छा आहे..”
बबिता ला एकदम रडू आलं…तिने गयावया केल्या पण सगळं व्यर्थ…अखेर कसंबसं तिचं सामान दुसरीकडे शिफ्ट करण्यात आलं आणि हॉस्पिटलच्या मदतीने तिला एक तात्पुरता निवारा देण्यात आला…
महिना झाला…सेक्रेटरी च्या घरी तिची मुलगी माहेरी म्हणून आली.. ती आली तशी आजारी पडली… ताप, खोकला….हळूहळू घरात सर्वांना हा त्रास सुरू झाला…अखेर सर्वांनी टेस्ट केल्या आणि रिपोर्ट पॉसिटीव्ह आले….बिल्डिंग चे परत धाबे दणाणले…सेक्रेटरी च्या मदतीला कुणी आलं तर नाहीच…वर मुलीला कशाला घरात घेतलं म्हणून सर्वजण आगपाखड करू लागले…आता सर्वजण सेक्रेटरी ला शिव्या देउ लागले..
“अरे माझी मुलगी आहे ती…त्या आजारासाठी काय तिला घराबाहेर ठेऊ? किती दिवसांनी माहेरी आलीये ती…अशी कशी वागणूक देताय तुम्ही? काही माणुसकी शिल्लक आहे की नाही??”
दवाखान्यात घरातले सर्वजण ऍडमिट होते…विचारपूस तरी कोणाची करणार? आणि कोण कोणाला धीर देणार?
पण अश्या परिस्थितीत एक नर्स ने त्यांची पुरेपूर काळजी घेतली….PPE किट घालून त्यांचा जवळ जाऊन सर्व तपासणी, त्यांना औषध देणं, त्यांना जेवण देणं…सगळं सगळं करत होती….सेक्रेटरी चा उर भरून आला. त्याचं पूर्ण कुटुंब बरं होऊन जायला निघालं तेव्हा त्याने नर्स ला गाठलं…
“तुमचे आभार कसे मानू तेच कळत नाही, हे 1000 रुपये ठेवा, आशीर्वाद म्हणून…”
“उपकार फेडायचेच असतील तर एक कराल? माझ्या घरात मला परत येऊ द्या…”
सेक्रेटरी ला समजलं नाही, नर्स आत जाऊन ppe किट काढून आली अन बघतो तर काय..
