लक्ष्मी कशीबशी नशेत असलेल्या सासूबाईंना घरी घेऊन जाते. घरी कुणाला समजलं तर अनर्थ होईल हे तिला माहीत होतं. ती हळूच दार उघडते,

“अगं शोभा..लक्ष्मी… कुठे होता इतका वेळ?”

“फोन करतोय लागत पण नाही फोन..”

लक्ष्मी ला आता घामच फुटतो…सासूबाई अजूनतरी शांत असतात…अचानक सासरेबुवांकडे बघत..

“बाळासाहेब..”

सासूबाई सासरेबुवांच्या गळ्यात पडतात.

“बाळासाहेब??? कोण बाळासाहेब??”

“डॅडी अहो आईंना खूप झोप आलीये…झोपेत बोलताय..एक काम करा..मी आईंसोबत झोपते..आजच्या दिवस तुम्ही निखिल च्या खोलीत झोपा..”

सासरेबुवांना आणि निखिल ला काहीच समजत नाही काय चालले आहे ते..ते गपचूप खोलीत निघून जातात..

दुसऱ्या दिवशी…

सासूबाई डोळे चोळत उठतात..डोकं जड झालेलं असतं.. सगळं अंधुक दिसत असतं… सगळं स्पष्ट दिसायला लागतं तेव्हा लक्ष्मी चहा घेऊन उभी असते..
