सासूबाईंना घाम फुटतो, सुनबाई आत्तापर्यंत बाहेर सगळे उद्योग करत होती, पण तिने तर आता घरावरच डल्ला मारलाय…सुनबाईचं काही खरं नाही, ती काहीही करू शकते…तिच्या डोकयावर परिणाम झालाय…माझ्या मुलाला आणि नवऱ्याला तिने काही केलं तर? नाही नाही….

“सुनबाई…हे बघ….तू म्हणशील तसं करेल मी…तुला मी सगळं आयतं हातात देईन…सकाळचा चहा सुद्धा बेडवरच देईल पण माझ्या मुलाला आणि नवऱ्याला काही करू नकोस..”

लक्ष्मीला हसू येतं… ती निखिल जवळ जाते अन हळूच त्याला चिमटा काढते….

“आ….लक्ष्मी नको ना प्लिज….प्लिज…नको ना..”

“सुनबाई नको गं माझ्या मुलाचा छळ करुस..” सासरेबुवा गमतीने म्हणतात…

तिकडे सासूबाईंच्या डोळ्यासमोर येतं… लक्ष्मी ने दोघांचे हात बांधून ठेवले आहेत, त्यांच्या डोळ्यावर पट्टी बांधली आहे आणि त्यांचा प्रचंड छळ करतेय…

“सुनबाई तुझ्या पाया पडते मी…सांग काय करू मी ज्याने तू त्यांना सोडशील?”

“नुसतं घरातलं करा एवढंच नाही म्हणत आहे मी…अजून काही गोष्टी आहेत त्या तुम्हाला कराव्या लागतील..”

लक्ष्मी त्यांच्यापुढे काही अटी ठेवते आणि सासूबाई नाईलाजाने होकार देतात..

“आणि हो…आत्ता जे झालं त्याच्याबद्दल घरी चर्चा करायची नाही…या दोघांनाही सांगितलं मी तसं…”

“हो…तू म्हणशील तसंच होईल..”

बोलणं झाल्यावर लक्ष्मी पून्हा जेवणाच्या टेबल वर जाऊन बसते…

“काय गं…. कसली सुपारी घेतलीये यावेळी??”

“Kidnap…”

“काय?”

“हो..तुम्हाला दोघांना kidnap केलंय…”

दोघेही हसायला लागतात…त्यांच्यासाठी ही एक चेष्टा होती…

घरी गेल्यावर..

“अहो तुम्ही ठीक आहात ना? निखिल…तुला काही झालं तर नाही ना?”

सासूबाई त्यांना पुढून मागून न्याहाळतात..

“आम्हाला काय होतय..”

“सूनबाईने चांगलंच धमकवलंय वाटतं यांना..” सासूबाई मनातल्या मनात म्हणतात…

“बरं ते सगळं जाऊद्या….जा आराम करा दोघे…”

दोघांना पोटभर जेवून चांगलीच सुस्ती आलेली असते, दोघेही बेडवर जाऊन झोपतात..

“सासूबाई…लक्षात आहे ना?”

“हो बाई…हो..” सासूबाई हात जोडत म्हणतात…

दुसऱ्या दिवशी…

“शोभा…अगं नाष्टा आन की जरा..”

शोभा अक्का नाष्टा घेऊन येतात…

पेपर वाचत असलेल्या सासरेबुवांना शोभा अक्काचा फक्त हात दिसतो…काहीतरी चुकल्यासारखं वाटतं..

“तुझ्या बांगड्या कुठे आहेत?”

सासरेबुवा शोभा अक्का ला पूर्ण बघतात अन त्यांच्या हातातला पेपर गळून पडतो…

“शोभा… अगं काय हे?? हे काय कपडे घातलेत? ती जीन्स, तो भाई लोकं घालतात तसा शर्ट.गळ्यात ह्या चेन… हातात कसली कडं… गळ्याभोवती रुमाल..”

इतक्यात लक्ष्मी येते..

“आज से SB भी अपनी गॅंग मे शामिल….बोले तो अपना राईट हॅन्ड…”

सासूबाईंचा नुसता तिळपापड होतो, पण गत्यंतर नसतो..

“चलो..SB… अपना आजका काम पुरा करना है..”

सासूबाई जागच्या हलत नाही…लक्ष्मी त्यांचा हात धरून त्यांना बाहेर नेते..

चाळीतले लोकं बघत असतात…शेजारच्या म्हस्के आजोबांना फिट यायला लागतात…कॉलेजला जाणाऱ्या राहुल च्या हातातला टिफिन खाली पडतो…. दाढी करत असलेल्या रवींद्र काकांची एक अर्धी मिशी कापली जाते…

सर्वजण हा अजब गोंधळ मोठ्या आश्चर्याने बघत असतात..

शोभा अक्काच्या उरल्या सुरल्या इज्जतीची पण आज वाट लागते….

लक्ष्मी तिची गाडी काढते…

“ए भाई लोग… पक्या, सुश्या, बंड्या…चला बसा गाडीत…. आज एक को धोने का है…”

सगळे पंटर लोक गाडीत बसतात…शोभा अक्का चेहरा लपवते…पण ही तिघे तोंड दाबून हसत असतात…

एका गोडाऊन समोर गाडी थांबते…

सगळे आत जातात..सासूबाई घाबरलेल्या असतात…घाबरत घाबरत लक्ष्मी च्या मागे जातात…

“ए किधर है बे बेनीलाल…बाहर निकल…तेरा गेम अभि खतम होयेला है…”
