त्याने आदेश सोडला,

तिने गरमागरम कॉफी करून आणली,

नवऱ्याजवळ बसली,

कॉफी पिता पिता तो मोबाईल चाळू लागला,

ती वाटच बघत होती,

याचं आपल्याकडे लक्ष जातंय का,

त्याने काही वेळाने मोबाईल ठेवला

“मी जरा पडतो, जेवायला उठव मला”

असं म्हणत तो बेडरूममध्ये निघून गेला,

ती हिरमुसली,

नकळत त्याची तुलना शेजारणीच्या नवऱ्याशी करू लागली,

“तिचा नवरा काय काय आणतो तिच्यासाठी, आणि आमच्या यांना, दोन शब्द बोलायलाही वेळ नाही.. नशीबच असतं एकेकाचं खरंच!”

ती असंच जीवाला कोसत दिवस काढत होती,

काही महिन्यांनी निसर्गाने कोरोना नावाचा हाहाकार माजवला,

त्याची लाट सोसायटीत पण पोहोचली,

एकेक करत सगळेच positive येऊ लागले,

ते शेजारचं जोडपं,

दोघेही positive,

विचार करता करता तिचंही अंग तापलं,

तिने धसकाच घेतला,

पटकन काढा वैगरे करून स्वतःला बरं करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला,

पण विषाणूने शेवटी तिच्या शरीरावर ताबा मिळवलाच,

सगळी धावपळ सुरू झाली,

तिच्या नवऱ्याला कळलं,

पटकन हॉस्पिटलमध्ये दाखल केलं,

तिची तब्येत बिघडत होती,

डॉकटरांनी सांगितलं,

चांगला औषधोपचार लागेल, ऑक्सिजन पण तयार ठेवा,

बिलाचं तिला कळलं आणि ती अजूनच धास्तावली

भरमसाठ बिल येणार होतं,

तिच्या नवऱ्याचा पगार पाहता हे सगळं झेपणारं नव्हतं,

पण त्याने तिला धीर दिला,

“मी आहे ना? तू फक्त बरी हो”

त्याच्या आवाजातला कातरपणा तिला जाणवला,

तिला न गमावण्यासाठी त्याची धडपड ती बघत होती,
