तो घरी येणार म्हणून हिच्यात जरा उत्साह आला..

ओमला आवडतो म्हणून चिवडा बनवायला घेतला..लाडू करायला घेतले..

नवऱ्याला तिचा उत्साह बघून बरं वाटलं…

ओम घरी आला ,

आल्यावर तो आईला कडकडून भेटेल असं तिला वाटलेलं..

पण आल्या आल्या तो तोंड पाडून खोलीत गेला…

आई मागोमाग गेली…

“काय रे काय झालं?”

“मी चार मार्काचा एक प्रश्न सोडून आलो…कसकाय सुटला माझ्याकडून काय माहीत?”

“एवढंच ना, कशाला एवढा विचार करतोस? होतं असं..”

आईने त्याला जेवायला वाढलं..

त्याच्या अश्या वागण्याने ती थोडी दुखावली गेली, मुलगा खूप महिन्यांनी घरी आलेला..

पण हा आधीसारखा ओम नव्हता..

तो त्याच्याच जगात रहात असायचा..आईशी जास्त बोलत नसे..

त्याच्या वागण्यातला फरक आईला समजला..

तिने स्पष्ट विचारलं..

“काय झालंय बाळा? असा उदास का असतोस?”

“काय सांगू आता..नशीब माझं…दुसरं काय..”

“नशीब? काय झालं नशिबाला?”

“माझ्या कॉलेजच्या एका मित्राला त्याच्या वडिलांनी वाढदिवसाला कार गिफ्ट केली..”

“मग?”

“मीही श्रीमंत घरात जन्मलो असतो तर…मलाही मिळाली असती..”

आई दोन पावलं मागे सरकली..

काटकसर करून ओमला बाहेरगावी पाठवलं होतं.. अन तो हे बोलतोय?

ती शांत राहिली, दुखावली गेली…

आधीच डिप्रेशनमध्ये, त्यात ओमच्या अश्या वागण्याने ती अजून खचली…

संध्याकाळी जेवताना सुद्धा तो चिडचिड करत होता..

आई म्हणाली,

“अरे असा काहीही विचार नको करत जाऊ…तुझ्याकडे काय कमी आहे? सगळं काही केलंय आम्ही तुझ्यासाठी..”

वडीलसुद्धा तिथे होते…ते म्हणाले,

“असं काय बोलतेय? काय झालं?”

“ओम म्हणतोय मी श्रीमंत घरात जन्मलो असतो तर परिस्थिती वेगळी असती..”

वडील उठले,

“असं कसं आलं तुझ्या डोक्यात?”

ओम आता चवताळला…

तोही उठून उभा राहिला..
