श्री. महाजन सांगितल्याप्रमाणे खेड्यातील काही निवडक शिक्षकांना बोलवतात…त्या शिक्षकांना आपला असा झालेला सन्मान पाहून कृतकृत्य झाल्यासारखे वाटते…

पुन्हा एकदा मुख्यमंत्री भवन…कॉन्फरन्स हॉल.

“तुम्हाला आजची शिक्षणव्यवस्था बदलायची असेल तर तुम्ही काय उपाय कराल?”

“मुलांना मुक्तपणे शिकवा…चार भिंतीत राहून मुलं काहीही शिकू शकणार नाही…त्यांना पठारावर, डोंगरावर नेऊन भूगोल शिकवा, नकाशा समोर ठेऊन भूभाग शिकवा…त्यांना बागेत नेऊन वनस्पतीशास्त्र शिकवा…दैनंदिन जीवनातील विज्ञान शिकवा…व्यवहारातून गणित शिकवा…”

“जसे की??”

“मी माझ्या वर्गात एक नफा तोटा शिकवायच्या आधी एक खेळ घेतला होता….बिझनेस बिझनेस म्हणून…कागदाच्या नोटा बनवल्या..त्यात त्यांना काही वस्तू विकत दिल्या, आणि मुलांनाच विकायला लावल्या…असं करत कुठल्या गुप ला जास्त नफा झाला यावरून त्यांना विक्री किंमत, खरेदी किंमत, नफा, तोटा शिकवला…”

“उत्तम..”

“मी श्री. नलावडे, आदिवासी शाळेत शिकवतो…तिथल्या मुलांना शाळेची आवड आहे पण घरची परिस्थिती अशी की त्यांना ती बुडवावी लागे…. अश्या परिस्थितीत आपण आदिवासी मुलांच्या पालकांसाठी सुद्धा काहीतरी उपक्रम राबवावे जेणेकरून ती मुलं शिकू शकतील..”

तेजु ते ऐकून भारावून जाते..

“महाजन…बघितलं…ही खरी शिक्षण तज्ञ..यांना शिक्षण समितीवर नियुक्त करा..”

“माफ करा मॅम, पण आम्हाला आमच्या विद्यार्थ्यांनाच घडवू द्या..”

“तुम्हीच खरे शिक्षक…जो आपल्या कर्तव्याला तसूभरही कमी पडत नाही तोच खरा शिक्षक..”

त्यांना योग्य तो सन्मान देऊन तेजु त्यांना निरोप देते…

“मॅम, आजवरच्या माझ्या नोकरीत इतकं झटपट सोल्यूशन मी पाहिलं नव्हतं..”

“आता यांच्याकडून एक नीट मॉडेल तयार करा, कोर्टाची परवानगी लागेल…त्यासाठी घाई करा..”

“म्हणजे अजून 5 वर्ष तरी काम होणार नाही…”

“काय म्हणालात?”

“सॉरी मॅडम, पण आपल्याकडे अशी न्यायव्यवस्था आहे की झटपट निकाल लावणं शक्य नाही..”

“कारण काय यामागे?”

“दिरंगाई…पोलीस पुरावे गोळा करण्यात मग्न असतात तोवर कोर्टाला काही हालचाल करता येत नाही..”

“उद्याच्या उद्या वकील आणि न्यायाधीशांची बैठक बोलवा..”

दुसऱ्या दिवशी..

“न्यायालयीन कार्यात दिरंगाई होतेय…कारण कळेल?”

“मॅम आपल्याकडे पोलीस, वकील आणि न्यायाधीश यांची कमी आहे…आणि अश्या कितीतरी केसेस असतात ज्यांची चौकशी करावी लागते…पोलीस यंत्रणेवर ताण पडतो…”

“इकडे तुम्हाला पोलीस आणि वकील कमी पडतात आणि तिकडे लाखो बेरोजगार बसून आहेत..”

तेजु काही वेळ विचार करते..

“सरकारी परीक्षा समिती कुठे आहे? MPSC मध्ये नवीन परीक्षेची भर घाला…पोलिसांच्या चौकशीला आणि न्यायालयीन वकिलांना हातभार लावणारे असिस्टंट तयार करा…न्यायालयाच्या याच कारभारामुळे जनतेचा न्यायव्यवस्थेवर विश्वास राहिला नाही. आता हे सगळं बंद करा…”

“मॅडम ते सगळं ठीक आहे पण…एक व्यवस्था बदलायची म्हणजे इतर अनेक व्यवस्थांवर परिणाम होतो..”

“बस्स…गेले कित्येक दिवस हेच वाक्य ऐकतेय मी…बदलाला घाबरतात नुसते सगळे… अरे म्हणून काय हातावर हात धरून बसायचं? परिणाम होईल म्हणून जे आहे तेच चालू द्यायचं?? किती दिवस??”
