“त्याचाहून हुशार होतो मी…दहावी बारावी ला 20 टक्के जास्तच असायचे मला…पण नशिबाचा खेळ बघ…तो आज कुठे पोहोचला आणि मी कुठेय….”

चेतन आपल्या बायकोला, उर्मिलाला वैतागून सांगत होता.
उर्मिला ला कळत नव्हतं की हा का सतत स्वतःची दुसऱ्यांशी तुलना करतो? सद्य स्थितीला आपण जे आहोत ते खूप समाधानी आहोत, पण इतक्यात याच्या डोक्यात नवीनच खुळ घुसलं…
“मी नवीन व्यवसाय सुरू करतो..सगळी मोठी लोकं व्यवसाय करतात…नोकरीत काहीही ठेवलं नाही…”
उर्मिला ने त्याला समजावलं..
“व्यवसाय करायचा असेल तर आधी नीट प्लॅनिंग कर..नीट ठरव तुला नक्की काय करायचं आहे ते…”
चेतन मधेच गॅरेज टाकायचं म्हणायचा, काही दिवस झाले की ट्रेडिंग बिझनेस चं खुळ डोक्यात यायचं…
उर्मिला ला चेतन ची मानसिक चलबिचल समजत होती…
तिने एक दिवस युक्ती केली…त्याचा मोबाईल एक दिवसासाठी लपवून दिला…चेतन सैरभैर झाला… शोधून शोधून अखेर दमला….ऊर्मिला म्हणाली, “आपण संध्याकाळी पोलीस complaint करू…”
त्या दिवशी चेतन ला उर्मिला ने नवीन पुस्तकं वाचायला दिली, नवनवीन विषयांवर त्यांची चर्चा झाली..चेतन चं मन शांत झालेलं…संध्याकाळी ऊर्मिला ने हळूच त्याला त्याचा मोबाईल काढून दिला…
“तू लपवलेलास?”
“हो…बघा, मोबाईल नव्हता तर तुमचं मन कसं शांत होतं… मला एक गोष्ट लक्षात आलीये, तुम्ही मोबाईल मध्ये सोशल मीडिया वर सतत स्क्रोल करत असतात…इतर लोकांची फोटो बघून स्वतःची त्याच्याशी तुलना करत बसतात..”
“खरंय… नकळतपणे माझ्या मनात अशी नकारात्मकता तयार झाली…”
“चला माझ्यासोबत…”
“कुठे?”
“स्वयंपाक घरात..”
उर्मिला गॅस वर कढई ठेवते…
“तुम्हाला गोड पदार्थ आवडतात ना..आज एक पदार्थ करू..हे बघा, दूध गरम झालं, यात साखर टाकते…तुम्हाला तिखट पण आवडतं ना? लाल मसाला टाकला…झालं…अजून काय आवडतं तुम्हाला? आंबट चव आवडते ना? यात चिंच घालते….”
“अगं अगं हे काय? किती बेचव लागेल हे? काय करतेय?”
“का? तुम्हाला ज्या आवडतात त्या सगळ्या चवी आहेत यात…”
“अगं पण गोड हवं असेल तर तिखट घालू नये…तिखट हवं असेल तर ते आंबट करू नये…एका वेळी एकच चवीचा आनंद मिळेल ना..”
“पटलं ना तुम्हाला? मग हेच आपल्या आयुष्याचा बाबतीत लागू करा…तुम्हाला एकाच वेळी कुटुंब, पैसा, उच्च राहणीमान, आराम आणि समाधान कसं मिळेल? योग्य वेळी योग्य ती मिळेलच… तुम्ही ज्यांच्याशी स्वतःची तुलना करताय त्यांना तरी परिपूर्ण आयुष्य मिळालंय का हो? कुणाकडे पैसा आहे तर आरोग्य नाही, आरोग्य आहे तर कुटुंब सोबत नाही, कुटुंब आहे तर समाधान नाही…काहींना काही कमी असतेच प्रत्येकाच्या आयुष्यात… तुम्ही तुमच्या आयुष्यातील चवी ओळखा…”
“खरंच गं, माझ्याकडे इतकं छान कुटुंब आहे…पुरेल इतका पैसा आहे…आरोग्य चांगलं आहे…मी उगाच दुसऱ्यांच्या आयुष्याशी आपलं आयुष्य तोलायची…”
“हो ना? आता आलं ना लक्षात? चला तुम्ही बाहेर बसा…तुमच्या आवडीचे पदार्थ बनवते….गोड… तिखट…”
“हो पण…वेगवेगळी बनव हा…एकत्र करून नाही…”

दोघे हसायला लागतात…आणि त्यांच्या आयुष्याची नव्याने सुरवात होते…
