मानसी एक गायिका, गाण्याशिवाय तिचं जगणं अशक्य होतं… अगदी शाळेपासून ते लग्न होईपर्यंत विविध कार्यक्रमात, ऑर्केस्ट्रा मध्ये तिचं गायन सुरू असे. शिक्षणानंतर गायनातच तिने आपलं करियर करायचं ठरवलं. चांगलं शिक्षण असल्याने आणि चांगली नोकरी मिळत असतानाही तिने तिकडे पाठ फिरवून गायन कलेला जोपासायचं ठरवलं. तासनतास रियाझ…नवनवीन सुरांची मांडणी…तालबद्धता.. याचा रोज सराव चाले..स्वतःचं यूट्यूब चॅनेल सुरू करायचं होतं… गाण्याचे व्हिडीओज बनवायचे होते…मोठ्या चित्रपटासाठी गायिका म्हणून गाण्याचं स्वप्न ती बघत होती. खूप मोठा पल्ला तिला गाठायचा होता, आणि तशी तिने तयारीही केली.
पण घरच्यांना मात्र तिच्या लग्नाची चिंता सतावू लागली…बघता बघता एक स्थळ आलं…मुलगा खूप चांगला होता, मानसी ला तो आवडला…म्हणून लग्नाला तिने आढेवेढे घेतले नाही. या गुलाबी काळात तिची स्वप्न कुठेतरी मागे राहिली, गायनकडे दुर्लक्ष झालं..प्रेमाच्या रंगात ती रंगत होती, केतन ला भेटणं, त्याच्याशी बोलणं… यातच तिचा वेळ जाऊ लागला…
आणि ती भानावर आली ती आज…लग्नाला 2 महिने झाल्यानंतर… आपली स्वप्न, आपली महत्वाकांक्षा कशी विसरलो आपण? इतकं वाहवत गेलो या लग्नाच्या निर्णयात? कारण लग्नानंतर घरात सततचे पाहुणे, घरातल्या जबाबदाऱ्या… सासू सासऱ्यांनी सेवा…यात ती बंदिस्त झाली…जेव्हा ती खडबडून जागी झाली तेव्हा बाहेर येण्याचा मार्ग बंद झाला होता. या लग्नाच्या निर्णयानंतर तिची स्वप्न पूर्ण करणं जवळ जवळ अशक्य वाटू लागलं.
का आपण इतके वाहवत गेलो? का लग्न केलं? का हा निर्णय घेतला? लग्न केलं आणि आता सगळे मार्ग बंद झालेत माझे…गायन माझा आत्मा आहे, कसा जोपासू?
विचार करत करत ती सिग्नल वर पोहोचली, आसपासच्या गाड्या…रहदारी…काहीच पाहत नव्हती ती…
ट्राफिक पोलीस ने झटकन तिचा हात पकडून तिला मागे केले…
“मॅडम शुद्धीवर आहात ना?”
मानसी अजूनही विचारातच होती…”काय करून बसले..कसं सोडू मी गाणं… घर कोण पाहील? मागे फिरणंही अशक्य आहे…” तोंडाला येईल तर बरळत होती…

पोलिसाने तिला बळजबरी बाजूला घेऊन एका ठिकाणी बसवलं…तिच्या तोंडावर पाणी मारलं तशी ती भानावर आली…
“पोलीस? तुम्ही? मी इथे..???”
“ताई शांत हो…तुला तुझी स्वप्न मागे राहिल्याचं दुःख आहे ना?”
मानसी आश्चर्याने पोलिसांकडे बघते, 2 मिनिट त्यांच्याकडे पाहून तिला रडू फुटतं…
