 क्षणभर त्याचा त्याच्या डोळ्यांवर विश्वासच बसेना..ज्या मंदिराच्या गाभाऱ्यात तो कितीतरी वेळ रडत बसला होता, त्याच मूर्तीतून देव पुढ्यात येऊन उभा राहिला…भगवंताने त्याला साक्षात्कार दिला आणि तो क्षणभर चक्रावला…

“रडू नकोस बाळ…तुझ्या दुःखाने मी कळवळलोय…सांग तुला काय हवंय..”

अद्वैत आयुष्यात सतत येणाऱ्या अपयशामुळे खचुन गेला होता..त्याचा स्वतःवरचा विश्वासच उडाला होता…त्याने देवाला सांगितलं..

“एक गोष्ट असेल तर सांगू…कितीतरी गोष्टी मला हव्या आहेत..”

“ठीक आहे, हव्या तेवढ्या गोष्टी माग… तुला रोज एक गोष्ट मिळत जाईल…”

अद्वैत ने विचार केला आणि तो म्हणाला..

“मला शक्ती, बुद्धी, आनंद, पैसा, नशीब आणि शांतता दे…”

“तथास्तु…”

देव क्षणात नाहीसा झाला, आणि अद्वैत आनंदाने घरी परतला..आज त्याला शक्तीचं वरदान मिळणार होतं..

तो पायऱ्या उतरला आणि पाहतो तर काय, त्याची चप्पल गायब झाली होती… तो वैतागत अनवाणी घरी जायला निघाला..रस्त्यात पायाला चटके बसत होते, खडे टोचत होती…सुरवातीला त्याला त्रास झाला, पण नंतर त्याला काही वाटलं नाही..

दुसऱ्या दिवशी कचेरीत गेल्या गेल्या साहेबांनी त्याच्यावर हल्लाबोल चढवला, कामाबद्दल अद्वैत ला चांगलीच बोलणी बसली…रात्री उशिरापर्यंत तो काम करत बसला…

तिसऱ्या दिवशी तो आईला घेऊन मंदिरात गेला, तिथे एक लहान मुलगा भीक मागायला आला…त्याने विचारलं, “तुझे आईवडील कुठे आहेत..”

“मला आई बाप नाहीत..”

त्याचा हातावर पैसे ठेऊन अद्वैत जड मनाने घरी परतला, जाताना आपल्या आईचा हात त्याने घट्ट पकडून ठेवला होता…

चौथ्या दिवशी त्याच्या अंगावर कचेरीत दुप्पट काम अंगावर पडलं…

पाचव्या दिवशी त्याची गाडी चुकली आणि तो पायपीट करत कचेरीत गेला..

सहाव्या दिवशी मित्राच्या आईचा अपघात झाल्याचं कळलं आणि अद्वैत सर्व काम सोडून त्याचा मदतीला गेला..

सातव्या दिवशी अद्वैत पुन्हा मंदिरात आला आणि देवाला बोलावू लागला…देव प्रकट झाला…

“भगवंता…तुही आता खोटी आश्वासनं द्यायला लागलास? तू संगीतल्यापैकी काहीएक मला मिळालं नाहीये…”

“तुला सगळं मिळालं आहे मुला…”

“ते कसं?”

“तू शक्ती मागीतलीस… मी तुझी चप्पल गायब केली…तुला कठीण प्रसंगात उभं केलं..आणि तू शिकलास….प्रसंगाला कसं तोंड द्यायचं ते…तुला शक्ती मिळाली…

कचेरीत तुझे साहेब तुला ओरडले, मग तू चूक सुधारायला बुद्धीचा कस लावलास…आणि अखेर ते काम फत्ते केलंस…तुला अनुभव मिळाला..तू तर्क लावलेस….तुला बुद्धी प्राप्त झाली..

तिसऱ्या दिवशी अनाथ मुलाला पाहून तुला तुझ्या ओंजळीतल्या सुखाची जाणीव झाली…तुला आनंद मिळाला…

चौथ्या दिवशी कचेरीत कष्टाचं काम अंगी आलं, तू कष्ट उचलले… साहेबांनी ते बघितलंय…तुझ्या प्रमोशन ची खबर तुला मिळेल…पैसा येण्याच्या मार्गावर आहे..

तुझी गाडी चुकली, आणि तुझा जीव वाचला…कारण पुढे त्याच गाडीचा अपघात झाला..तुला नशीब प्राप्त झालं…

मित्राच्या आईला मदत केलीस , तुला समाधान मिळालं…

अद्वैत चे डोळे पाण्याने भरून आले…इतक्यात त्याचा मेसेज ची रिंगटोन वाजली…

“तुमच्या कुशलतेमूळे आणि कष्ट करण्याचा वृत्तीमुळे तुमची नेमणूक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी म्हणून करण्यात आली आहे..अभिनंदन…”

अद्वैत ने वर पाहिलं.. देव त्याचं काम करून केव्हाच अदृश्य झाला होता…

त्याने पुन्हा एकदा हात जोडले आणि तो म्हणाला..

“देवा तुझी लीला अपरंपार आहे…”
