“हेच ऐकायचं बाकी होतं मला…माझ्यावर विश्वास नाही मा तुमचा? मी जातेय घर सोडून, पण जाता जाता एक सांगते… मी आरवला भेटायला गेलेले हे सांगण्यासाठी तुमची घरी यायची वाट बघत होते..”
“भेटायला गेली हे कशाला सांगायला हवं?”
“कारण त्याने मला धमकी दिलेली, मला भेटायला आली नाहीस तर तुझ्या नवऱ्याला मारून टाकेन, विधवा करेन तुला…हे बघ मेसेज..”
त्याने मेसेज बघितले, त्याने एकच मेसेज अर्धवट वाचलेला…त्याला त्याची चूक कळली..
कार्तिकीची त्याने माफी मागितली…
खोलीत गेला, पिस्तूल काढले आणि तडक आरवच्या घरी गेला…
आरव घरी एकटाच होता,
“नालायक माणसा, माझ्या बायकोवर डोळा ठेवतोस? आज तुला जिवंत ठेवणार नाही..”
“अरे नालायक तर तू आहेस, जो तुझ्या बायकोला गुलामसारखं वागवतोस, छळ करतोस तिचा…”
“खोटरड्या, काहीही बरळतोस काय? अरे मला भेटली नाही तर तुझ्या नवऱ्याला मारेल अशी धमकी देतोस?”
दोघांमध्ये झटापट झाली…
आरवने पटकन ड्रॉवर मधून पिस्तुल काढलं…
त्यांनी एकमेकांवर रोखलं..
अमोलने संतापत एक गोळी झाडली, आणि तिकडून आरव ने..
दोघेही समोरासमोर..
मरणाच्या उंबरठ्यावर…
तेवढ्या काही सेकंदात त्यांना सत्य समजलं…डाव कळला..पण वेळ निघून गेलेली…
अमोलची माहिती काढत काढत कार्तिकी आरव च्या घरी पोचली..
दोघेही रक्ताच्या थारोळ्यात…
असह्य वेदना, गगनाला भेदून टाकणारा आक्रोश आणि किंचाळी….
असं तिच्या मुखातून काहीही निघालं नाही….
ती शांतपणे दोघांचे मृतदेह ओलांडून जवळच्या खुर्चीत पायावर पाय टाकून बसली…
जोरजोरात हसू लागली..
आज तिची महत्वाकांक्षा पूर्ण झालेली….
ज्या अधिकाऱ्याच्या जाचाला कंटाळून तिच्या वडिलांनी आत्महत्या केली, त्या अधिकाऱ्याचा मुलगा…हाच तो आरव…
आणि ज्या मुलाने बहिणीवर अत्याचार केला…तो हाच… अमोल…
आणि आयुष्यात जी मिळवायचं स्वप्न होतं ती हीच…खुर्ची…कंपनीच्या मालकाची…अहं…मालकिणीची…
नीना- अमोल ची assistant, तिची मैत्रीण…तिचा नंबर आरव नावाने सेव्ह करून तिनेच मेसेज केलेले कार्तिकीला…आणि तिनेच आरव आणि अमोलची भेट घडवून आणली…
कार्तिकीने नवऱ्याला खोटं सांगितलं, की आरवने मला भेटायला बोलावलं आणि नवऱ्याला मारायची धमकी दिली म्हणून,
प्रत्यक्षात कार्तिकीनेच आरव ला भेटायला बोलावलेलं…
आरव भेटल्यावर तिने त्याची सहानुभूती मिळवली, मला तुझंच प्रेम हवं होतं…माझा नवरा माझा छळ करतो म्हणून…
आरवचं लग्न झालं नव्हतं, त्याच्यात प्रेमाचे जुने भाव परत जागृत झाले…घरच्यांचा आता विचार करायचा नाही आणि कार्तिकीला आपलं करायचं असं त्याने ठरवलं…
एकाच दगडात तिने दोन पक्षी मारलेले…
स्वतःचे हात रक्ताने न माखू देता…
आणि सूड पूर्ण झाला…
