घरात बसणारी एक संस्कारी बाई हवी म्हणून त्याने कार्तिकीशी लग्न केलं…जिला आपला कधी संशयही येणार नाही आणि आपल्या कामाच्या ठिकाणी ती लुडबुड करणार नाही…

आणि आपण आपले शौक करायला मोकळे…

एके दिवशी अमोलची assistant त्याच्या केबिनमध्ये आली..

“ओह, wow नीना…आज फारच सुंदर दिसताय..”

“थँक्स सर, by d way आपल्याकडे एक बिझनेस प्रपोजल आलेलं आहे…खूप फायदा होऊ शकतो आपल्याला…या बदल्यात त्यांना कंपनीत भागीदारी हवी आहे पाच टक्के..”

नीना अमोलला प्रतिसाद देत नसे, कामापूरता फक्त संबंध ठेवी…

अमोलने फाईल उघडली, प्रपोजल खरंच फायद्याचं होतं… त्याने ताबडतोब त्यांना बोलावून घेतलं..

ती माणसं आली..मुख्य बॉस आणि त्याचा assistant आलेला..

“नमस्कार, मी आरव, आरव मुजुमदार…”

“मी अमोल सरदेसाई… आपलं प्रपोजल पाहिलं…मी सही करतोय..”

प्रपोजल फायनल झालं…आरव आणि अमोल मध्ये छान गप्पा झाल्या…अमोलने आरवला रात्री घरी जेवायला यायचं आमंत्रण दिलं…

आरव रात्री त्याच्याकडे गेला..

कार्तिकी आणि आरवची नजरानजर झाली..

दोघेही सुन्न…

एकेकाळी केलेलं आकंठ प्रेम त्यांना आठवलं..

पण अमोल समोर दोघेही अनोळखी म्हणून वावरत होती…

आरव जायला निघाला, जाताना एकदा कार्तिकीकडे पाहिलं…आणि निघून गेला..

तो गेल्यावर कार्तिकी अमोल वर चिडली..

“कशाला आणलं या माणसाला घरात?”

“काय झालं?”

“लग्नाआधी मी तुम्हाला ज्या मुलाबद्दल सांगितलं होतं तो हाच…आरव…एकमेकांवर प्रेम होतं आमचं, लग्नासाठी नकार दिलेला याने..”

अमोल हसायला लागतो,

“अगं मग त्याला काय मी मुक्कामाला ठेवतोय का? आला तसा गेला..आणि माझी पतिव्रता बायको, तुझ्यावर माझा पूर्ण विश्वास आहे, तू फक्त आणि फक्त माझ्यावर प्रेम करतेस..”

अमोल ला काही फरक पडत नव्हता,

कारण एक तर तो स्वतः तसा होता आणि दुसरं कार्तिकी किती पतिव्रता आहे हे त्याला चांगलंच माहीत होतं..

आरव आणि अमोलने सुरवात केली कामाला..

बिझनेस नफ्यात आला..

दोघेही खुश…

एकदा कार्तिकी अंघोळीला गेली असता तिच्या फोनवर मेसेज आला…आरव चा..

त्याचा नंबर सेव्ह कसा म्हणून तो चिडला..

“संध्याकाळी भेटायला ये..”

आरवने तिला मेसेज केलेला..

तो चिडला…त्याला बायकोवर संशय येऊ लागला..

पण लगेच तिला जाब विचारण्यापेक्षा यांचं कुठवर आहे ते बघू असा विचार त्याने केला…

संध्याकाळी कार्तिकी म्हणाली,

“मी जरा बाहेर जाऊन येते, शॉपिंगला..”

त्याचा संशय अजूनच बळावला..त्याने तिचा पाठलाग केला..

एका हॉटेलमध्ये दोघेही गेले…

अमोलची सहनशक्ती संपली, हॉटेल च्या नियमाप्रमाणे त्याला आत कुणाला भेटता येणार नव्हतं त्यांच्या परवानगी शिवाय…

तो बार मध्ये गेला..खूप ड्रिंक् केलं..

घरी आला तेव्हा कार्तिकी घरी आली होती..

ती रडत होती..

“चोराच्या उलट्या बोंबा? वा…झाली का माजमस्ती करून तुझ्या मित्राशी? आता नवऱ्याच्या घरात कशाला आलीये?”
