अखेर स्वराने पुढाकार घेऊन ईशिका ला विचारलं,
“ईशिका, तुला आशिष बद्दल काय वाटतं..”
“मी लहानपणापासून प्रेम करतेय त्याच्यावर, आशिष सोबतच आयुष्य काढायची स्वप्न रंगवली होती मी…आणि दुसऱ्या कोणाचा विचार करणं मला अशक्य आहे…”
“आशिष तुझं काय म्हणणं आहे??”
आशिष मौन बाळगून असतो…
स्वरा पुन्हा ईशिका ला म्हणते,
“बरं मानलं तुमचं एकमेकांवर प्रेम आहे, पण पुढे काय? मी तर होईन बाजूला, पण खुशी चं काय?”
“तिचा काहीही दोष नाही यात , मी सांभाळेल तिला…”
ईशिका मोठ्या सुरात म्हणाली…तिचं अवसान पाहून स्वरा म्हणाली,
“ठीक आहे, उद्यापासून ईशिका तू इथे यायचं, राहायला….एक सून म्हणून माझी जागा तू घ्यायचीस, एकदा का तुला आशिष च्या आई वडिलांनी स्वीकारलं तर मी बाजूला होईन…बोल, आहे मान्य??”
ईशिकासमोर एक संधी होती, तिने तात्काळ होकार दिला…पण घरी काय सांगणार??? स्वराने घरी सांगितलं, की ईशिका आणि ती एका प्रोजेक्ट वर काम करणार असल्याने ईशिका इथेच राहणार आहे…
ईशिका घरी राहणार म्हणून आशिष च्या आई वडिलांनाही आनंद झाला..त्यांच्या समोर काहीतरी काम करायचं नाटक करून स्वरा आणि ईशिका वेळ मारून नेत होते…
ईशिकाने आता घराचा ताबा घ्यायचं ठरवलं… खुशी साठी खूप सारे गिफ्ट्स आणायचे, आशिष साठी नवीन हेडफोन घ्यायचे, काका काकूंसाठी छान पुस्तकं आणायची..आणि सकाळी सर्वांना नाष्टा म्हणून छान पास्ता बनवायचा असं ठरलं..गेस्ट रूम मध्ये ती राहत होती…आदल्या दिवशी जेवण करून सर्वजण आपापल्या खोलीत जात होते…आशिष आणि स्वरा एका खोलीत जाताना पाहून तिचं रक्त खवळलं….
“आशिष फक्त माझा आहे, त्याला मिळवण्यासाठी मी काहीही करीन..”
दुसऱ्या दिवशी ईशिका सकाळी उठते, उठून पाहते ते काय..घड्याळात नऊ वाजलेले…
“अरे देवा…मला जाग कशी आली नाही, आणि मला काय अलार्म ऐकू आला नाही? आज सर्वांसाठी नाश्ता बनवायचा होता मला..”
इतक्यात स्वरा खोलीत चहा घेऊन येते..
“झोप लागली ना चांगली? हा चहा घे, खाली ये लवकर, नाश्ता वाढते गरम गरम…”
ईशिका बघतच राहिली…
नाश्ता करताना ईशिका स्वरा कडे नीट बघत होती…स्वराची काम करण्याची पद्धत, तिची धावपळ, तिचं वागणं, बोलणं…कारण आता तिला स्वराची जागा घ्यायची होती…
“स्वरा, माझं घड्याळ पाहिलंस का?”
“तुम्ही अजून तयार नाही झालात? कपडे इस्त्री करून ठेवलेत, घड्याळ, रुमाल, चार्जर सगळं काढून ठेवलं आहे…आधी नाश्ता करा…”
आशिष डायनिंग टेबल समोर बसतो…इशिकाला पाहून…
“गुड मॉर्निंग..”
“गुड मॉर्निंग….”
“तुला सकाळी 9 नंतर उठायची सवय होती I guess…”
“होना…पण आमच्या स्वराने बरोबर लवकर उठायची सवय लावली त्याला…आता लवकर उठतो, फिरायला जातो, व्यायाम करतो..”
“Ohh… मी असती तर दुसऱ्याला असं बदलायच्या मागे लागले नसते..”
“काही म्हणालीस??”
“नाही काकू…. म्हटलं आज जरा तुम्हाला मदत करावी…आज बाकी काही कामही नाही..”
“कशाला उगाच त्रास तुला…पाहुण्याने छान पाहुणचार उपभोगावा… बाकी आम्ही घरातली माणसं पाहून घेऊ..”
आशिषची आई ईशिका ला पाहुणी म्हटली आणि इशिकला कसंतरी झालं…
“काकू पाहुणी काय, मी घरातलीच… आणा काय कामं आहेत मी बघते..”
स्वराला भाजी निवडायचं काम दिलं, या आधी हे काम केलं नसल्याने सगळं उलट काम करून ठेवलं…आशिषची आई हसायला लागली..
“असुदे बाई, स्वरा सारखं घर सांभाळायला सर्वांना नाही जमत..”
इशिकाचा इगो दुखावला गेला..संध्याकाळी सगळेजण एकत्र बसले असता मुद्दाम इशिकाने विषय काढला…
“मी परदेशात एका मोठ्या हुद्द्यावर काम केलेलं…मी ज्या फ्लॅट मध्ये राहायचे तिथे अगदी स्वयंपाक करण्यापासून सगळ्या गोष्टींना कामाला माणसं होती..माझा पगारही तेवढा होता म्हणा…”
ईशिका आपण घरातल्या कामात जरी तरबेज नसलो तरी बाहेर कर्तृत्ववान आहोत हे सांगायचा प्रयत्न केला…
आशिष ची आई म्हणाली,
“हो का?? अगं बाई, मजा होती तुझी तर…”
“हो काकू, बाईने काय नुसतं स्वयंपाक घरात झोकून द्यायचं का? संसार, मूल, नवरा…हे सर्वस्व असतं का तिच्यासाठी?”
आशिष ईशिका कडे एक प्रेमिका म्हणून जरी बघत असला तरी तिची ही स्वार्थी बाजू त्याला कधी दिसली नव्हती. स्वरा हे ऐकून थोडी नाराज झाली…तिचा चेहरा बघून सासुबाई म्हणतात…
“आमची स्वरासुद्धा खूप हुशार होती बरं का…पण आमच्यामुळे तिचं करियर मागे पडलं..”
“अहो काहीही काय आई…मी स्वतःहून घर सांभाळायचा निर्णय घेतलाय…तुमची काही चूक नाही त्यात..”
