ईशिका येणार म्हणून सासूबाई आणि स्वरा जोरात तयारी करत होत्या. सासूबाईंना तर या सगळ्या प्रकाराची कल्पना नव्हतीच. स्वरा एकेक पदार्थ बनवत होती,ती जरी खंबीर बनली असली तरी मनात विचार चालत होते…
“खरच माझी गरज नसेल तर का राहावं मी इथे? मी जर यांच्या प्रेमाच्या आड येत असेल तर निघून जावं का मी स्वतःहून?”
या विचारात असतानाच तिचं बोट कापलं गेलं आणि ती किंचाळली…
आवाज ऐकून आशिष पटकन धावत आला, त्याच्या डोळ्यात काळजी होती…
“काय गं तू…नीट बघून कापत जा..”
“सुनबाई, मी करेन बाकीचं.. तू दमलीये असं पण आज..”
आशिषला त्या क्षणी दुसऱ्या गोष्टीचा विसर पडला होता…या क्षणी तो स्वरा चा नवरा म्हणून वागला होता..आणि सासूबाई तर आईसारखा जीव लावत होत्या..
“कुणाला सोडून जाऊ मी? या भरल्या गोकुळसारख्या कुटुंबाला? आणि आशिष चं काय?? तो खरंच तिच्यावर प्रेम करतोय की ही क्षणिक ओढ आहे?? मला जायला काय, मी आत्ता निघून जाऊ शकते, पण एक प्रयत्न करायला काय हरकत आहे? आशिष ला खऱ्या प्रेमाची जाणीव करून द्यायला काय हरकत आहे??”

स्वरा वातावरण हलकं करण्याच्या हेतूने विचारते..

“नाहीतर काय…आमचा नंबर वेगळ्या कॉलेज ला लागला तेव्हा मात्र आशिष अगदी रडायला लागलेला…त्याला सवय झालेली माझी…आणि असं थोडाही वेळ लांब जाणं त्याला सहन होणारं नव्हतं..”
ईशिका भावनेच्या भरात बोलून जाते…स्वरा आणि आशिष ला तिच्या बोलण्याचा रोख समजतो…आशिषही भान हरपून बोलतो…
“हो पण तुलाही तितकंच वाटलं असतं तर आज परिस्थिती वेगळी असती..”
या बोलण्याने मात्र आशिष च्या आई वडिलांनाही शंका येऊ लागली.. स्वरा ने तात्काळ विषय बदलायचा म्हणून खुशी ला गाणं म्हणून दाखवायला लावलं…आशिष आणि ईशिका च्या मनात एकमेकांबद्दल असलेली सल आज उकरून बाहेर येत होती..
