तिने दार उघडले आणि..तिचा भूतकाळ आणि वर्तमानकाळ…दोघेही सोबत उभे..

श्रीधर…मोनिका चा नवरा आणि मंगेश..मोनिका चा भूतकाळ..साधारण 10 वर्षांपूर्वीचा..

“अगं आत तर येऊ दे आम्हाला…”

दोघेही पावसात भिजलेले.. भिजलेल्या मंगेश ला पाहून तिच्या त्या बागेतल्या आठवणी जाग्या झाल्या. मंगेश असाच पावसात भिजत भिजत यायचा मला भेटायला..भिजलेले केस झटकताना माझ्या चेहऱ्यावर पाण्याचे हलके फवारे उडायचे आणि मी मोहरून जायचे…

“टॉवेल आणतेस का?”

श्रीधर म्हणाला तशी ती भानावर आली..

“हा माझा मित्र मंगेश..कालच ऑफिस ला जॉईन झालाय.. त्याचं घर लांब आहे..त्याला म्हटलं चल माझ्या घरी… आता मस्त आम्हाला गरमा गरम कॉफी बनव…”

“चहाच बनवते…”

मंगेश कॉफी घेत नाही हे तिला आजही लक्षात होतं…

मंगेश चे भरलेले डोळे आजही त्यांचा प्रेमाची साक्ष देत होते…

मोनिका नजर लपवत चहा करायला निघून गेली..

“10 वर्षांपूर्वी परत येईल असं म्हणत निघून गेला…तो आज परत येतोय..सगळं संपल्यावर….”

या 10 वर्षात मोनिका ने भूतकाळ पुसून नव्या आयुष्याला सुरवात केली होती..उत्तम गृहिणी आणि उत्तम आई ती आज बनली होती. सगळ्या जबाबदाऱ्या निभावून नेताना मनाच्या कोपऱ्यात मात्र मंगेश ची सल कायम जपत होती, कधी पाऊस पडला आणि श्रीधर ला भिजलेलं पाहिलं की ती जखम डोकं वर काढायची, अगदी मंगेश च्या लकबीत श्रीधर हसला की ती सल उफाळून यायची. सुरवातीला श्रीधर मधेच मंगेश ला ती पाहत होती, आणि हळूहळू हेच आपलं प्रेम मानून श्रीधर ला तिने स्वीकारले…

भरलेले डोळे तिने ओढणीने पुसले, चहा हातात घेतला..हॉल मध्ये जाताना तिचे हात थरथरत होते..

“एकाच कपाखाली बशी? दुसरा कप असाच?”

“असू दे श्रीधर, मला बशी लागत नाही…” असं म्हणत मंगेश ने कप उचलला…मोनिका कडून नकळत तिच्या जुन्या सवयी पुन्हा दाटून आलेल्या…त्यांची चहाच्या निमित्ताने झालेली भेट..मंगेश ची चहा पिण्याची लकब…सगळं कसं अगदी कालचंच वाटत होतं…”

काय बोलणं होतं मंगेश आणि मोनिका मध्ये? मंगेश मोनिका च्या आयुष्यातून का निघून गेलेला? आणि आज परत का आलाय? योगायोग की जाणीवपूर्वक?
