हे सगळं सुरू असतांना करुणाचा नवरा आला,

दारात सुंदर रांगोळी होती, घराला सुंदर सजावट होती, फुलांच्या माळा होत्या…यात त्याची काही मदत नव्हती,

पण किमान हे सगळं बघून तो कौतुक करेल आणि आम्हा माय लेकरांची तयारी बघून खुश होईल असं तिला वाटलेलं..

त्याच्याकडे बघून ती हसत साडी नीट करू लागली,

कशी दिसतेय मी? असं मौनानेच तिने कटाक्ष टाकला..

पण त्याला ते काही दिसलं नाही,

घरभर झालेला पसारा आणि कॉटवर असलेली कपड्यांची चळत बघून तो ओरडला,

“हा काय पसारा घालून ठेवलाय? सियु, हे कपडे नीट ठेवता येत नाही का तुला? घडी घाल आधी…आणि काय गं करुणा, किचनमध्ये सगळी लाईट सुरू, दिवाळी आहे म्हणून वीज वाया घालवायची का? विहान, दिवाळीचा अभ्यास किती झाला तुझा? बघतो तेव्हा उड्या मारत असतोस..”

बस्स, एका क्षणात त्याने सगळं वातावरण बिघडवलं,

करुणाचा सगळा उत्साह मावळला, सिया आणि विहान छोटं तोंड करून निघून गेले,

पुढचं सगळं काम तिने करायचं म्हणून केलं,

संध्याकाळी पूजा झाल्यानंतर सोसायटीतले सर्वजण फोटोसाठी एकत्र जमले,

तिथे करुणाच्या शेजारी राहणारी तिची मैत्रीण तिला भेटली,

“छान दिसतेय”

करुणा तिला म्हणाली, पण तिचाही मूड आज जरा खराबच होता,

“काय गं काय झालं?”

“काही नाही गं, तुला तर माहितीये आमच्या ऑफिसमध्ये दिवाळीच्या किती कमी सुट्ट्या मिळतात, तरी यावेळी मी अगदी सकाळपर्यंत लॅपटॉपवर बसून सगळी कामं पूर्ण केली”
