आदित्यला आधी वाटलेलं की प्रेरणा mpsc च्या परीक्षेला तयार होणारच नाही, पण तिने निर्णय घेतला होता. आदित्यला सगळं सोपं वाटत होतं. पण त्याने हा विचार केला नव्हता की प्रेरणा जर अभ्यास करत असेल तर मलाही माझा जास्तीत जास्त वेळ वीर ला द्यावा लागेल. 

दुसऱ्या दिवशी प्रेरणा घरातलं सगळं आवरून आदित्य चा लॅपटॉप घेऊन बसली, आदित्यला प्रेरणाच्या समोर लॅपटॉप बघून  हसू येतं.. प्रेरणाला त्याची खोचक नजर समजते पण ती दुर्लक्ष करते. वीर जवळच खेळत असतो..प्रेरणाचं लक्ष अर्धं वीर कडे आणि अर्धं लॅपटॉप समोर असतं. वीर खेळता खेळता भिंतीवरील इलेक्ट्रिक बोर्ड जवळ जातो, प्रेरणा त्याला मागे ओढते आणि दुसरीकडे बसवते पण तो पुन्हा पुन्हा तिथे जात असतो. प्रेरणा रागाने आदित्यला म्हणते..

“अहो मी जरा syllabus काढतेय mpsc चा..जरा वीर कडे लक्ष द्या की..”

आदित्य गाणं गुणगुणत फक्त मान हलवतो. आदित्य लक्ष देईल म्हणून प्रेरणा पुन्हा तिच्या कामाला लागते..तेवढ्यात वीर चा रडण्याचा आवाज..खेळता खेळता भिंतीवर डोकं आपटून घेतलेलं असतं त्याने..प्रेरणा पटकन उठते आणि त्याला शांत करते..

“अहो लक्ष कुठे होतं तुमचं?”

“अगं तू होतीस ना जवळ..”

“मी आत्ताच तुम्हाला म्हटलेलं की मी जरा काम करतेय वीर कडे लक्ष द्या..”

आदित्य काहीही बोलत नाही. त्याला सवयच नव्हती, प्रेरणा सोबत असताना वीर कडे तीच लक्ष देणार हेच त्याच्या अंगवळणी पडलं होतं. प्रेरणा वैतागून लॅपटॉप बंद करते आणि वीर ला शांत करते. जेवणं आटोपुन प्रेरणा वीर ला झोपवून देते. सगळं काम झालंय म्हणून हुश्श करत प्रेरणा पुन्हा लॅपटॉप सुरू करते..तोच आदित्य तिच्याकडे लॅपटॉप मागतो..

“ऐक ना..मला जरा काम आहे लॅपटॉप वर, तू नंतर घे..”

प्रेरणा काही कामाचं असेल म्हणून पटकन आदित्यला लॅपटॉप देते. बराच वेळ होतो, प्रेरणा आदित्य चं काम संपायची वाट बघते. ती आदित्य जवळ जाते..तो नवीन आलेली गाणी शोधून download करत असतो..

“अहो काय करताय?”

“गाणी download करतोय..”

“ते महत्वाचं होतं का? इथे मी माझ्या कामासाठी मागितला होता..मला वाटलं तुम्हाला ऑफिसचं काहीतरी काम असेल म्हणून..”

“काय करायचं होतं तुला इतकं अर्जंट लॅपटॉप वर..”

“अहो सांगितलं ना, syllabus शोधून काढायचा होता..”

“ते नंतर कर..आता नेट वर लोड येईल, गाणी download होताय..”

प्रेरणा रागाने न बोलता झोपून घेते. ती mpsc crack करायची स्वप्न बघत होती पण तिला इथे साधा syllabus सुद्धा बघायला अवघड जात होतं. 

दुसऱ्या दिवशी घरी अचानक पाहुणे आले अन त्यात सगळा वेळ गेला.रविवार आला, एरवी आदित्य लॅपटॉप बरोबर बाळगत असल्याने तिला तो मिळत नसे आणि मोबाईल वर नीटसं दिसत नसे त्यामुळे रविवारी हे काम करून टाकू असं तिच्या मनात आलं.

रविवारी आदित्य उशिरा उठला, त्याला चहा देऊन तिने लॅपटॉप हातात घेतला. वीर आदित्यसोबत खेळत होता.तेवढ्यात आदित्यला फोन आला आणि तो बाहेर निघून गेला. प्रेरणा पुन्हा वीर जवळ बसली, आता तो फारच active झाला होता त्यामुळे सतत त्याच्या मागे मागे असावं लागायचं. आदित्यने कबूल केलेलं की सुट्टीच्या दिवशी तो वीर ला सांभाळेल, पण उलट त्या दिवशी प्रेरणाला जास्तीची कामं पडू लागली..
