“हा माझ्या ऑफिसमधला मित्र..विजय. हा सुद्धा mpsc चा अभ्यास करतोय बरं का..”

“अगं प्रेरणा काहीतरी खायला बनव ना, तू भजी छान बनवतेस..”

आदित्य त्यांना मधेच तोडत म्हणाला..प्रेरणाने पटकन जाऊन भजी करून आणली आणि पुन्हा त्यांच्यात येऊन बसली..

“तर तुम्ही काय म्हणत होता?”

“अगं अजून तळ ना, एवढ्यावरच काय होणार?”

प्रेरणाला आदित्यची चाल समजली होती. काहीही करून दोघांत संवाद होऊ द्यायचा नव्हता, कारण त्याला माहित होतं की परिक्षेबद्दल जरा काही बातमी असली तरी प्रेरणा हात धुवून त्याच्या मागे लागते. एक तर त्याला प्रेरणाला परिक्षेपासून दूर सारायचं होतं. प्रेरणाने पण हार मानली नाही..ती आत गेली आणि 15 मिनिटांनी ट्रे घेऊन बाहेर आली..

“घ्या, मनसोक्त भजी घ्या..पाणीही आणलंय आणि हो गरम गरम चहाही आहे..आणि स्वयंपाक सुद्धा तयार आहे, आता जेवण करूनच जायचं हा..” असं म्हणत तिने आदित्यकडे एक तिरका कटाक्ष टाकला..आता काहीच बाकी नाही म्हणून आदित्यला गप बसावं लागलं..

“अहो त्या निमित्ताने तुम्ही जास्त वेळ थांबाल, आणि आपल्याला परिक्षेबद्दल सविस्तर चर्चा करता येईल..मलाही थोडं मार्गदर्शन हवंच आहे..”

अर्ध्या तासात उठणाऱ्या मित्राला आदित्यमुळे 2 तास थांबावं लागलं, आदित्यची चाल आदित्यवरच उलटली होती.या वेळात प्रेरणाने विजयला सर्व माहिती विचारून घेतली. अभ्यासाला कुठलं स्टडी मटेरियल वापरावं, कशावर जास्त फोकस करावा, परीक्षेच्या वेळेचं नियोजन कसं करायचं हे सगळं माहीत करून घेतलं.

“वहिनी सर्वात जास्त वेळ जातो तो इतिहासाचा अभ्यास करण्यात..एवढं लक्षात ठेवणं अवघड आहे हो..

विजयने भाजीचा तोंडापाशी नेलेला घास तिथेच रोखून धरला..आदित्य प्रेरणाच्या बोलण्याकडे आ वासून बघत राहिला..इतका सखोल अभ्यास इतक्या कमी वेळात हिने कसा केला हाच प्रश्न दोघांना सतावत होता..

“वहिनी, सगळा सारांश तुम्ही काही मिनिटात सांगितला..खरं तर हे सगळं लक्षात ठेवायला मला 2 वर्षही पुरली नाहीत..”

विजयच्या हेही लक्षात आलं की प्रेरणाला परिक्षेबद्दल किती तळमळ आहे ते. तिचा अभ्यास बघून त्याला समजलं की ही पहिल्याच प्रयत्नात यशस्वी होणार..

“वहिनी, मी येतो आता..तुमचा अभ्यास चालू द्या..थोडी बडीशेप असेल तर देता का प्लिज?”

“हो आत्ता आणते..”

हे निमित्त करून विजयने प्रेरणाला आत पाठवलं आणि तो हळूच आदित्यला म्हणाला..

“आदित्य..वहिनी खूप मनापासून प्रयत्न करताय, त्यांची गती रोखू नकोस..”

“हे घ्या भाऊजी…येत जा असेच..सहज तर येणार नाही तुम्ही, आजही काहीतरी काम काढलं असणार. “

“हो वहिनी…आदित्यकडे काम होतं जरा..त्याचा पेन ड्राईव्ह हवा होता, घेतला मी..”

एवढं म्हणत विजयने निरोप दिला. टेबलवर प्रेरणाची रचून ठेवलेली पुस्तकं तशीच राहिली..प्रेरणाच्या जिद्दीसमोर त्यांचं स्थलांतराचं स्वप्न भंगलं होतं..

आदित्यला एकीकडे वाटायचं की प्रेरणा यशस्वी व्हावी, पण कुठल्याही तडजोडी शिवाय..जे की शक्य नव्हतं..

प्रेरणाचा अभ्यास सुरूच होता, मध्ये कित्येक अडचणी आल्या पण त्यावर मात करून प्रेरणाने अभ्यास सुरू ठेवला. आता तिला अभ्यासाची गोडी लागली. सतत व्यस्त असल्याने बाकीच्या गोष्टीत आता तिचं मन रमत नसे.tv, मोबाईल, गाणी ऐकणं पूर्णपणे बंद झालं होतं. TV पहायची ती केवळ बातम्या ऐकण्यासाठी. एरवी प्रेरणाची सिरीयल आणि आदित्यच्या बातम्या यावरून होणारे वाद आता थांबले होते. दोघेही एकत्र बातम्या बघत. 

गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून मात्र आदित्य कुठल्यातरी चिंतेत वाटत होता. ऑफिसमध्ये काहीतरी टेन्शन असेल म्हणून तिने दुर्लक्ष केलं पण हे नेहमीचं होऊ लागलं. अश्यावेळी एक बायको म्हणून आपल्या नवऱ्याची साथ देणं तिला महत्वाचं वाटलं. एक दिवस अभ्यास बाजूला ठेऊन ती आदित्यजवळ बसली आणि त्याला चिंतेचं कारण विचारलं..आदित्यने त्याच्या चिंतेचं कारण कुठलेही आढेवेढे न घेता बोलून टाकलं..
