रेवती घरी आली,

घरात मोठ्या जाउबाई होत्या,

जाउबाई आणि रेवती दोघींनी पाहिलं,

रेवती जवळच उभी होती,

सासुबाई आल्या आणि रेवतीला नको ते बोलू लागल्या,

“मिळतं म्हणून उतमात करायची का? डोकं ठिकाणावर ठेऊन कामं करत जा..”

रेवती म्हणाली,

“अहो आई मी नाही फोडला कप..भांड्यातून पडला, हवं तर ताईंना विचारा..”

सासूबाईंनी जाउबाईंकडे पाहिलं, त्या गप होत्या, सगळं माहीत असून काही बोलल्या नाही,

“बघितलं? ती काही बोलत नाहीये, तूच खोटं बोलतेस”

रेवतीला जाउबाईंचा प्रचंड राग आला, खरं माहीत असूनही मला खोटं ठरवलं…रेवतीच्या डोळ्यातून अश्रू वाहू लागले,

“ताई का असं केलंत? माझी बाजू का नाही घेतली?”

जाउबाई जवळ आल्या,

गंभीर मुद्रा करत म्हणाल्या,

“राजकारणात जायचं आहे ना तुला? मग हा पहिला धडा..आपली चूक नसतांना कुणी आपल्यावर आरोप करत असेल तर आपल्या जवळची लोकं आपल्या बाजूने उभी राहतील या भ्रमात राहायचं नाही…राजकारणात ज्याच्या हातात सत्ता त्याच्या बाजूने माणसं बोलतात”

रेवती बघतच राहिली,
