 आज घरात खूप आनंदाचं वातावरण होतं,

आठ वर्षाच्या दिवेशची निवड राज्यस्तरीय स्केटिंग स्पर्धेत झाली होती,

घरातून स्पोर्ट्समध्ये नाव कमावणारा तो एकटाच होता,

वडील डॉक्टर आणि आई गृहिणी होती,

सासुबाई नेहमी म्हणत,

डॉक्टरकी आणि स्पोर्ट्स यांचा काय संबंध? तिला कळेना,

ती फक्त हसून देई,

घरच्यांना वाटे दिवेशमध्ये उपजतच खेळाची आवड आहे,

पण तसं नव्हतं,

हे त्याच्या आईचे गुण त्याच्यात आले होते,

आई खेडेगावात शिकली होती,

पण लंगडी, खो खो मध्ये नेहमी पुढे असायची,

सर्वांसमोर ती तिच्या शाळेतल्या खेळाच्या आठवणी सांगू लागली की सगळेजण ऐकून न ऐकल्यासारखं करत,

कारण त्यांच्या लेखी ही गोष्ट क्षुल्लक होती,

पण आज दिवेशमध्ये हे गुण आले होते ते त्याच्या आईकडून हे कुणीही मान्य करायला तयार नव्हतं,

आईलाही तशी अपेक्षा नव्हती,

तिच्या लेखी मुलाचं यश महत्वाचं होतं,

लहानापासून तिने त्याची खूप ठेप ठेवली होती,
