बाबा ताबडतोब भावाकडे गेले,
“कुठे गेली अरुणा? पोलिसांकडे जाऊ लवकर..”
कुणी हलेना,
बाबांना कळेना काय चाललंय,
अचानक त्यांचा भाऊ रागारागाने उठला,
म्हणाला,
“मेली ती माझ्यासाठी.. पुन्हा तोंड बघणार नाही”
हळूहळू समजलं,
एका मुलासोबत पळून गेलेली ती,
दुसऱ्या धर्माचा होता तो,
बापाची प्रतिष्ठा, संस्कार एका क्षणात धुळीला मिळालं,
इकडे भक्तीच्या वडिलांनाही धक्का बसला,
आजकालची मुलं,
कोणत्या थराला जातील कळत नाही,
इतकी हिम्मत येते कुठून?
भक्ती कधी एकदा रविवारी घरी येते असं झालं त्यांना,
एकेक दिवस मोजत बसले,
त्यात बातम्यांनी कहर केलेलं,
आपले संस्कार आणि मुलांची जिद्द,
यात कधी कधी जिद्द जिंकते,
आणि बाप हरतो,
रविवार यायला अजून पाच दिवस बाकी होते,
वाट बघत बघत अखेर शनिवार आला,
बाबांच्या कानावर परत बातमी आली,
अरुणा माहेरी आलेली,
रडत, पोळलेलं..जखमी झालेलं शरीर घेऊन,
बापाने तसंच बाहेर काढलं,
तिथून कुठे गेली समजलं नाही,
कुणी म्हणतं गावापलीकडच्या विहिरीकडे गेली,
तिलाच माहीत..!
या निराशेत रविवार पटकन उजाडला,
भक्ती दुपारी घरी आली,
कधी एकदा तिच्याशी बोलतो असं झालं,
वडिलांनी जुजबी चौकशी केली,
नंतर विषय काढला हळुहळु,
“मग, ऑफिसमध्ये बराच मोठा मित्रपरिवार असेल..”
“हो बाबा, खुप आहे..मित्र, मैत्रिणी..”
“मग फिरायला वगैरे जात असाल..”
