दोघेही खूप दिवसांनी जोडीने मॉल मध्ये गेले होते,

एरवी मुलं बस मधून शाळेत गेली की तो ऑफिसमध्ये जाई आणि ती घरातलं काम आवरे,

सासू सासऱ्यांना वेळेवर नाष्टा आणि जेवण देण्यासाठी भराभर कामं आटोपण्याच्या मागे ती लागे,

पण आजचा दिवस खूप वेगळा होता तिच्यासाठी,

मुलांची बस येणार नव्हती, सासू सासरे एका लग्नासाठी दोन दिवस गावी गेलेले आणि त्याला सुट्टी होती,

तो म्हणाला,

“सकाळी लवकर आटोपून घे, मुलांना शाळेत सोडू आणि तसंच फिरायला जाऊ परस्पर, येतांना मुलांना घेऊन येऊ”

नेहमीच्या रुटीनपेक्षा वेगळा दिवस म्हटल्यावर तिला चुकल्या चुकल्यासारखं झालं,

लग्नानंतर फिरायला गेलेले दोघे, त्यानंतर बहुदा पहिल्यांदा दोघे बाहेर जात होते,

एरवी जात, पण लग्न समारंभात किंवा वाढदिवसालाच फक्त…

नाहीतर सासू सासरे सोबत असताना,

तिने छानपैकी तयारी केली,

दोघेही निघाले,

मुलांना शाळेत सोडलं,

तिला खूप वेगळं वाटत होतं, स्वयंपाकाला उशीर होईल, घरातली कामं बाकी आहेत याची हुरहूर लागायची,

पण मग सासू सासरे घरात नाही असं आठवलं की परत निर्धास्त होई,

त्याने मॉलकडे गाडी वळवली,

मॉल मधली मोठमोठे शॉप बघत दोघे चालत होते,

ती तिथल्या बायकाही बघत होती,

वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारचे शॉर्टस, वनपीस..मेकप मध्ये असलेल्या तिच्यातून अधिक वयाच्या बायका, एकदम मॉडर्न..

अन तिला उगाच वाटत होतं की आज तिनेच छान तयारी केली होती,

जग खूप पुढे गेलेलं, स्त्रिया खूप बदलल्या होत्या,

पण ती अजूनही तशीच होती,

पंजाबी ड्रेस, अंगभर ओढणी, साईडच्या दोन लट मध्ये घेऊन लावलेलं क्लचर…

एका दुकानापाशी थांबली, होम डेकोर चं साहित्य होतं तिथे,

ती हात लावून एकेक बघत असतांना तो म्हणाला,

“साधं प्लास्टिक आहे हे, काहीं कामाचं नाही, चल इथून”

ते प्लॅस्टिक नसून एक चांगल्या क्वालिटीचं  मटेरियल होतं,

“हे मटेरियल वेगळं वाटतंय ना जरा?”

“काही वेगळं नाही, तुला नाही समजत त्यातलं..तू चल इथून..”

ती निघाली,
