हॉस्पिटलमध्ये तो शून्यात नजर लावून बसला होता,

बायको पाच दिवसांपासून बेशुद्ध होती,

उपचार सुरू होते,

पण ती काही शुद्धीवर येईना,

मेंदूवरचा ताबा सुटला होता तिचा,

मध्येच अचानक हातपाय झटकायची,

हातपाय बांधून ठेवले होते तिचे,

जनावराला बांधून ठेवतात तसं,

त्याच्याकडून ते पहावलं जात नसे,

तिला पाहायला तो आतही जाईना,

डॉक्टर काहीही शास्वती देऊ शकत नव्हते,

नातेवाईक हॉस्पिटलमध्ये बघायला येत होते,

त्याची आई त्यांना सांगायची,

“कसलाच त्रास नव्हता हो तिला..इतकं अचानक कसं झालं काही कळायला मार्ग नाही..”

आई म्हणायची खरं,

पण त्याला माहीत होतं,

सगळं माहीत होतं,

अपराधीपणाच्या भावनेने जास्त पोखरत चालला होता,

त्याला मागचे काही वर्षे आठवली,

तो चार्टर्ड अकाउंटंट,

स्वतःचं मोठं ऑफिस,

प्रचंड व्याप,

जेवायला उसंत नसे,

काम आणि पैसा हेच आपलं सर्वस्व माने,
