 प्रयत्न करून करून कपभर चहा केला तरी वर काही उरायचाच..

हळूहळू,

स्वयंपाकाला लागली,

2 पोळ्यांचं कणिक, चार पोळ्यांचं व्हायचं,

एकाची भाजी, चार जणांची बनायची,

हात वळतच नव्हता, एकटीसाठी करायला..

जोपर्यंत जमायला लागलं,

तोवर वाटायला लागलं की काय हे, एवढंसं करण्यासाठी किती काम पुरतंय..

मग हळूहळू कंटाळा येऊ लागला,

बाहेरून मागव, कधी मॅगी खा..

तब्येतीवर परिणाम झाला,

एके दिवशी चक्कर येऊन पडली,

मोठ्या मुश्किलीने आईला फोन केला,

सांगितलं, एकासाठी करणं जड जातंय, म्हणून बाहेरचं खाल्लं..आणि एकाच्या जेवणाचा अंदाजच येत नाहीये, वाया जातं सगळं..काय करू मी?

आई म्हणाली,

“एकटीसाठी एकटीनेच आयुष्य जगायला गेलीस तर अंदाज चुकणारच… पदार्थांचे, अन…आयुष्याचे सुद्धा..”

एकदा घराकडे जाऊन यावं, मन भरून आलं,

असह्य झालं,

दुपारी सर्वजण झोपतात, तिला माहीत होतं,

हळूच गेटचं दार उघडलं,

किचनच्या खिडकीतून आत डोकावून पाहिलं,

सासुबाई उरलेली मोठी रस्साभाजी कढईतून पातेल्यात ओतत होत्या,

सासरेबुवा मागून हळूच म्हणाले,

काहीही म्हण, सूनबाईचा अंदाज चुकत नसायचा..

सासूबाईंनी डोळ्याला हळूच पदर लावला,

“हे खोटं आहे बाबा, खूप अंदाज चुकलेत माझे..अगदी आयुष्यभर पश्चात्ताप देतील इतके चुकलेत…”
