स्वावलंबी-3

 उगाच हे खूळ डोक्यात आणलं असं तिला वाटू लागलं,

किचनमधून छान पदार्थाचा वास येत होता,

बाहेर भाजीवाला आरोळ्या देत होता,

कचरागाडी दाराशी येऊन थांबलेली,

ती उठली तसं सासूबाईंनी अडवलं..

“बाई तू अभ्यास कर, मी भाजीपाला घेते, कचरा पण टाकते..तू उठू नकोस..”

या निमित्ताने जरा फेरफटका मारता येईल या विचाराने ती खुश होती पण सासूबाईंनी तेही करू दिलं नाही..

तिचा जीव त्या पुस्तकांसमोर घुसमटू लागला..

अभ्यासाची आवड मुळात नव्हतीच तिला,

काही दिवसांपासून तिच्या चुलत बहिणीने तिच्या ऑफिसमधले फोटो अपलोड केलेले तिने पाहिले अन तेव्हापासून हिच्या डोक्यात खूळ घुसलं होतं,

फेमिनिस्ट झालेली ती पक्की…

अभ्यासात ढ होती हे मान्य करण्यापेक्षा नवऱ्यावर सगळं ढकलण्यात तिला समाधान वाटत होतं..

पण नवराही काही कमी नव्हता,

हिची हौस होऊच द्यावी एकदाची असं त्याने ठरवलं होतं,

चार दिवस झाले,

तिला घरातलं काहीही काम करावं लागत नव्हतं,

आयतं जेवण हातात मिळे,

“तू फक्त अभ्यास कर” असं सासुबाई अन नवरा म्हणत..

ती वैतागली,

पुस्तकं समोर दिसली की तिची चिडचिड होई,

त्यात तिच्या नवऱ्याने दुकानात जाऊन प्रश्नपत्रिका आणून दिल्या,

“हे बघ, अभ्यास झाला की हे सोडव…टॉप करशील तू..”

तिच्या सहनशक्तीचा आता अंत झाला,

“नको ते मला, नाही करायचा मला अभ्यास, नको तुमचा सपोर्ट..”

“का गं? काय झालं आता? काल परवा तर रडत होतीस सपोर्ट नाही म्हणून..”

तिला काय बोलावं कळेना, आपलं दुखणं नक्की काय आहे हेच तिला कळेना…

तिचा नवरा हसला, तिला जवळ बसवलं आणि समजावलं..

“अगं लोकांच्या गोष्टी बघून तू का स्वतःला जज करते आहेस? आणि कोण म्हणतं तू स्वावलंबी नाहीस म्हणून? माझा सगळा पगार तुझ्या हातात देतो मी, वर तुझ्याकडेच खर्चाला पैसे मागतो.. मग मी तर परावलंबी झालो ना? एक अर्थिक बाब सोडली तर सगळ्याच बाबतीत मी तुझ्यावर अवलंबून आहे..घर सांभाळणं, स्वयंपाक करणं, साफसफाई करणं, पाहुण्यांचं बघणं हे तुझ्याशिवाय चांगलं कुणालाच जमत नाही.. बिल्डिंग मधल्या नोकरी करणाऱ्या बायका, फराळ वगैरे साठी तुझ्याकडेच येतात ना? त्यांना एक कौशल्य अवगत असेल तर तुला दुसरं..प्रत्येकीने स्वतःच्या पायावर उभं राहायला हवं हे मान्य, पण नसेल एखादीला आवड, एखादीला घर सांभाळण्यात,

माणसं जपण्यात आणि कुटुंबासाठी पूर्ण वेळ देण्यात आवड असेल तर त्यात वावगं असं काही नाही..हा आता जर मी तुझी किंमत करत नसेल, पैसे देत नसेल तर तुझ्या मनात हा विचार येणं योग्यच..पण तसं काहीही नसताना केवळ आसपासच्या वातावरणाला भुलून स्वतःशी तुलना करणं सोड…पाचही बोटं सारखी नसतात…कधी कधी स्वावलंबी आणि श्रीमंत बायका सुद्धा आतून पोखरलेल्या असतात, आणि काही गृहिणी घरातच असूनही खूप समाधानी असतात..आयुष्यात शेवटी समाधान महत्वाचं… समजलं?”

या उत्तराने तिचं खरं समाधान झालं,

आणि त्याचीही एकदाची सुटका झाली..

प्रत्येक व्यक्ती पूर्णपणे स्वावलंबी कधीही नसतो,

कुठल्या ना कुठल्या कारणाने तो दुसऱ्यावर अवलंबून असतो,

जोवर समोरचा आपला स्वाभिमान जपत असेल तोवर परावलंबी असणं वाईट नाही..कारण कुणीतरी अपल्यावरही अवलंबून असतं…

आयुष्यात शेवटी समाधान महत्वाचं…
