दिराचा मित्र फोटो काढत होता,

थोरलीचा मुलगाही त्यांच्यात जाऊन उभा राहिला,
धाकलीने पटकन हात धरून त्याला हटकलं आणि बाजूला केलं..
थोरलीच्या काळजात चर्रर्रर्र झालं,
आजपर्यंत,
धाकलीला कमावता यावं म्हणून स्वतःच्या कमाईवर पाणी सोडलं,
तिच्या मुलाला वर्षाचा असल्यापासून सांभाळलं, खाऊ पिऊ घातलं,
तिला बाहेर यश मिळवता यावं म्हणून घराची जबाबदारी तिच्यावर येऊ दिली नाही,
आणि आज..
पैसा, मान सन्मान याचा अहंकार तिच्यावर चढला,
दुसऱ्याला पाण्यात बघू लागली,
जाणीव ठेवली नाही..
नंतर समजलं की दोघेजण दुसरीकडे फ्लॅट बघताय,
आलिशान, मोठा…
काही पैसे जमा झालेले,
काही पैसे घरून मिळणार होते,
त्यांचे सासरे रिटायरमेंटनंतर चा पैसा दोघा भावंडात वाटून देणार होते,
ते आणि यांची शिल्लक असं मिळून फ्लॅट चं काम आरामशीर होणार होतं..
पण ते होण्याआधीच सासऱ्यांना देवाज्ञा झाली,
सगळं बाजूला राहिलं,
वर्ष झालं,
धाकलीने फ्लॅट साठी पुन्हा प्रयत्न सुरू केले,
“अहो ते पैशांचं विचारा ना..”
दिराने याआईकडे विषय काढला,
ती म्हणाली,
संध्याकाळी सगळे एकत्र आले की सांगते..
संध्याकाळी सगळे एकत्र आले,
आपल्याला अर्धे अर्धे पैसे मिळणार असं दोघा भावांना वाटत होतं..
पण,
सासूने बोलायला सुरुवात केली,
“तुमचे वडील गेले, पण जायच्या आधी मला रक्कम कशी वाटायची हे सांगून गेले..”
“कशी म्हणजे? अर्धी अर्धी ना?”
“नाही..तुमचे वडील शांत होते, पण त्याचं सगळीकडे लक्ष असायचं..थोरल्या सूनबाईने घरासाठी केलेला त्याग..धाकलीला पुढे जाता यावं म्हणून उचललेली जबाबदारी आणि कायम दुसऱ्याचा केलेला विचार…सगळं त्यांनी पाहिलं होतं..आज तिच्यामुळे धाकल्या सुनबाई आणि तिचा नवरा स्थिरस्थावर झाले, स्वतःची गाडी झाली, घर बुक झालं..पण थोरलीने कधीच स्वतःच्या संसाराचा असा विचार केला नाही.. आज धाकलीचा संसार जो काही समृद्ध आहे तो फक्त थोरली मुळे.. त्यामुळे 80% रक्कम तिला, आणि बाकीची धाकली अन तिच्या नवऱ्याला…
आणि हो, त्यांनी बजावून सांगितलं..की थोरलीला ही रक्कम कुणालाही देता येणार नाही, माझा आदेश आहे सांग तिला..”
थोरलीचे अश्रू थांबत नव्हते,
धाकलीला उपरती झाली, तिनेही हसत हसत मान्य केलं..
थोरलीला आजवर केलेल्या त्यागाचं फळ मिळालं..
