“ सासू थकली आहे, तिच वय झाले आहे, तुला काही आहे की नाही त्याचे? नुसती नट्टापट्टा करून निघून जातेस आणि वर नोकरी करते म्हणून तोरा बघा किती? “
“काय झाले आई, एवढी का चिडचिड करता आहात? “ विशाखा सौम्य आवाजात म्हणाली.“ काही न करता, सगळे काम माझ्यावर टाकून निघून जातेस आणि वर मलाच विचारतेस?” वृंदाताई आणखीनच उसळून म्हणाल्या. इतक्यात त्यांची मुलगी चारू घरात आली.“ आई, अग आत्ता कामावरून आलीय ना, जरा श्वास तरी घेऊ दे तिला. किती कटकट करतेस? “ चारू म्हणाली.“अग, सगळं काम टाकून जाते ही. सगळं काम माझ्यावर पडते. आता काय वय आहे का माझे काम करायचे? आणि वर नोकरी करते म्हणून हिचा तोरा. मला नाही होत असावा. आता अगदी आराम हवा आहे मला. “ वृंदाताई तणतणल्या.“आई तुला नक्की प्राॅब्लेम कसला आहे? विशाखा नोकरी करते, तिला बाहेर मान मिळतो हा की तुला काम पडतो हा? “ चारूने हसत हसत विचारले.“आता तूही माझीच चेष्टा कर. जातेच मी”. वृंदाताई आणखीच चिडल्या.
