“काय चाललंय मुलींनो?” तो ओरडला..

“अरे मामा आलाय”

हे ऐकताच पक्याने केस नीट केले, आरशात पाहिलं..

बाहेर गेला,

मामा बसला होता, तो तिला शोधत होता..

तिच्यावर नजर पडली आणि तो चक्कर यायचाच बाकी होता,

गोलमटोल, केसांचा पिंजरा आणि दोन पुढे आलेले दात..

“ही तीच का???” त्याच्या सर्व स्वप्नांवर पाणी फेरलं गेलं..

मामा म्हणाले,

“काय पक्या, अभ्यास कसा चाललाय?”

याचं उत्तर देत नाही तोच त्याचे पीटीचे सर दारात,

तो घाबरला,

नंतर समजलं, मामांचे ते मित्र, भेटायला आलेले…

तेवढ्यात आतून त्याच्या बहिणीचा आणि बहिणीच्या मैत्रिणींचा मोठमोठ्याने हसायचा आवाज ऐकू आला..

वडिल ओरडले,

“पोरींनो काय गोंधळ घातलाय? बाहेर या..”

बहीण आणि तिच्या मैत्रिणी बाहेर आल्या ते त्याची डायरी हातात घेऊनच..

भारतीय घरात प्रायव्हसी वगैरे सगळ्या अंधश्रद्धा आहेत,

सगळं काही जनहितार्थ जारी असतं त्याचं हे उत्तम उदाहरण..

पक्याला घाम फुटला,

कारण आता मोठा बॉम्ब फुटणार होता,

त्याच्या घामाच्या धारा वाहू लागल्या,

असं वाटत होतं धरणीचं पोट फुटून तिने मला आत घ्यावं..

आपली सगळी पापं डोळ्यासमोर आली..

“दादाने बघा ना काय लिहिलं आहे.”

“काय लिहिलं? वाच बरं..”

आपल्या लहानश्या लेकीला छान वाचता येतं हे दाखवण्यासाठी वडील मोठया अभिमानाने तिला म्हणाले,

तिने सुरवात केली,

“मला माझे बाबा अजिबात आवडत नाहीत, त्यांना हिटलर म्हटलं तरी चालेल..नुसते रागवत असतात मला. कारल्याची भाजी कुणी खातं का बरं? पुढच्या जन्मात मला दुसरे वडील पाहिजे..”

वडील रागाने त्याच्याकडे बघू लागले, पक्याची नजर वर उठत नव्हती, कारण हे फक्त स्टार्टर होतं, अजून अख्खा मेनू तर पुढे होता..

“किती वाट पाहायला लावशील अजून? असं वाटतं जन्मोजन्मी तुझ्याच विरहात लोळतोय…(लोळतोय🤣)

शनिवारी तू येणार म्हणून जीव हसुस..हासुस…हाकुस..असुस…आसुसला आहे..”( मराठीचे आधीच वांदे)

सर्वजण एकमेकांकडे बघू लागले, मग अर्थ उमगताच मामाच्या मुलीकडे सर्वांनी पाहिलं..मामा त्याच्या अंगावर धावून जायच्याच बेतात होता…पण मामाच्या मुलीच्या मनात प्रेमाचे अंकुर फुटले, आता इतकं रोमँटिक वाचल्यावर ती काही त्याच्याशी गाठ बांधल्याशिवाय राहणार नव्हती हे तिच्या नजरेतून स्पष्ट दिसत होतं..

बहिणीने पुढे वाचलं..

“शिंदे सर आणि नलावडे मॅडम, कायम एकमेकांशी गुलुगुलू करत असतात. त्यांच्यात बहुतेक प्रेमप्रकरण असावं. आम्ही मुलं त्यांना खूप चिडवतो. प्रेम असलं तर ते लपून राहत नाही. प्रेम हे प्रेम असतं, सर आणि मॅडमने करू नये असा नियम थोडीच आहे? मुलांनी प्रेमाचा असा अपमान करू नये, पण मुलांना कोण समजावणार..”

बहीण आणि तिच्या मैत्रिणी हसत होत्या, वडिलांनी त्यांना आधी तिथून हाकलले..

वडील, मामा आणि शिंदे मास्तर….

चौथं महायुद्ध पेटलं,

दुष्काळात तेरावा महिना, इकडे आड तिकडे विहीर, आगीतून फुफाट्यात आणि आभाळ कोसळणे या सर्वांचे वाक्यात उपयोग पक्याला कधी जमले नव्हते पण आज प्रात्यक्षिक त्याला मिळालं…

सर्वांनी मिळून पक्याला धु धू धुतला..

त्या दिवशी पक्याने मनाशी पक्कं केलं..

आयुष्यात कधीही डायरी लिहायची नाही,

आणि लिहायची इतकीच खाज असेल,

तर घरात लहान बहीण भाऊ नसलेल्या घरात जन्म घ्यायचा आणि मग लिहायची…
