“कार्तिकी अगं काय हे? तुला साधा स्वयंपाकही येत नाही? येत नाही ते ठीक आहे पण हळूहळू शिकायला काय हरकत आहे?”

हे ऐकून कार्तिकीला वाईट वाटलं, घरातील कामं दोघांनी मिळून केली तर काय त्यात इतकं? भलेही आनंद स्वयंपाक बनवत असेल पण बाकीचं तर मीच आवरते ना?

तिला वाटलेलं सासू एवढी सुशिक्षित आणि मोठ्या हुद्द्यावर आहे तर या गोष्टीचा एवढा त्रागा करायला नको होता,

सुशिक्षित फक्त नावाला, विचार शेवटी जुनाटच…

दुसऱ्या दिवशी ती तोंड पाडूनच घरातली कामं करत होती,

तेवढ्यात सासूबाईंचा ओरडण्याचा आवाज आला,

“आनंद….कुठे आहेस?”

“काय आई??”

“हे काय? आज दारात रांगोळी नाही??”

आनंद चमकला,

“अगं आज कार्तिकी स्वयंपाक करतेय सकाळी लवकर उठून, नाही जमलं तिला..”

“तिनेच रांगोळी काढायची असं कुठे लिहून ठेवलंय का? तुला कितीदा सांगितलं की छोटीशी का असेना रांगोळी शिकून घेत जा..पण ते नको..”

कार्तिकीला धक्काच बसला,

तिला हळूहळू लक्षात आलं,

की सासूबाईंचा खरा राग काहीतरी वेगळाच आहे…

आनंद आणि कार्तिकी कामावर निघून गेले, दोघांकडेही आपापल्या गाड्या होत्या..

येताना कार्तिकीची गाडी बंद पडली आणि तिने आनंदला फोन केला, त्याने येऊन गाडी सुरू केली आणि दोघेही घरी गेले..

संध्याकाळी सासूबाईंनी हे सगळं समजलं आणि त्या कार्तिकीवर चिडल्या…

“तुला साधं हे कामही येत नाही?”

“अहो गाडीमधलं मला काय समजणार..”

“हेच.इथेच चुकतंय तुमच्या दोघांचं..”

“म्हणजे??”

“अरे बाळांनो लग्न म्हणजे दोघांनी एकमेकांना आपल्यावर विसंबून ठेवणं नव्हे…लग्न म्हणजे दोघांनी एकमेकांना परिपूर्ण बनवणं.. मग ते कशातही असो..आनंदला स्वयंपाक करताना बघून मला काहीही वाटलं नाही, पण तुला येत नाही म्हणून मी तुला रागावले… रांगोळी काढणं फक्त बायकांचं काम असं आनंदच्या बोलण्यातून समजलं म्हणून मी त्याला रागावले..गाडी तल्या तांत्रिक बाबी फक्त माणसांना माहीत असतात असं तुझ्या बोलण्यातून समजलं म्हणून तुला रागावले…असं चालणार नाही, दोघांनाही सगळी कामं यायला हवी…जसं तुला रांगोळी काढणं, घराची साफसफाई करणं जमतं तसं आनंदलाही यायला हवं..आनंदला जसं स्वयंपाक करता येणं, तांत्रिक गोष्टी, बाहेरच्या गोष्टी माहीत असतात त्या तुलाही माहीत व्हायला हव्यात…यालाच संसार म्हणतात…अमुक एक गोष्ट बाईनेच करावी आणि तमुक एक गोष्ट माणसानेच करावी यातून दोघेही आता बाहेर या आणि एकमेकांना परिपूर्ण बनवा..”

हे सगळं ऐकून कार्तिकीचे डोळे उघडले,

आई वडीलांनी सुशिक्षित घर म्हणून यांना निवडलं ते उगाच नाही,

आज खऱ्या अर्थाने यांनी सुशिक्षितपणा दाखवून दिला आणि कार्तिकीच्या मनावरचं मळभ दूर झालं…

सासूबाईंचा हा विचार अगदीच पटण्यासारखा आहे,

लग्न म्हणजे एकमेकांवर विसंबून राहणं नव्हे,

तर एकमेकांना परिपूर्ण बनवणं…
