पण तिच्या इतकं शिक्षित कुणी नसायचं,

आई वडिलांनी ठरवलं,

योग्य मुलगा मिळाला तर ठीक नाहीतर आम्ही आयुष्यभर तिला जवळ ठेऊ, स्वतःचं पोट भरू शकेल एवढं सक्षम केलं आहे तिला…

त्यातच एक स्थळ आलं,

मुलगा धडधाकट, दिसायला सुंदर, सुशिक्षित..

त्याच्या रुपात देवच आला असं आई वडिलांना वाटलं,

मुलाने लगेच मुलीला पसंत केलं,

काही विचारलं नाही की कसली चौकशी नाही,

तिला काहीतरी वावगं वाटलं, पण कोणत्या तोंडाने विचारणार?

सासर खूप दूर होतं, आई वडिलांना खूप काळजी होती, पण इतका चांगला मुलगा मिळतोय म्हटल्यावर त्यांनी बाकी कसलीही चौकशी केली नाही,

ती लग्न करून सासरी गेली,

रस्त्यातच सर्वांचं वागणं तिला खटकत होतं,

तिचा नवरा तिच्या सासूला मॅडम म्हणत होता आणि सासू मुलाला सर..

तिला काही कळेना,

तिला एका घरात नेण्यात आलं,

आल्यासरशी तिला एक खोली दिली, नवरा बाहेर निघून गेला तो दोन दिवस फिरकलाच नाही,
