नव्वदीच्या दशकातील काळ. मीनाचं विसावं उलटलं अन नातेवाईकांनी बडबड सुरू केली,

“अजून लग्न नाही ठरलं? वय निघून गेलं की काय फायदा?”

“चेहऱ्यावरचं तेज कमी होऊ लागलंय, लवकर लग्न करा”

समाजाच्या या दबावामुळे आई वडील जोरात कामाला लागले आणि मीनासाठी चांगलं स्थळ शोधून काढलं. मीना शाळेत कामाला होती, पुढे तिच्या कामाचं काय? कुणालाही घेणं नव्हतं,

फक्त तिचं लग्न हीच प्राथमिकता..

तिचं लग्न झालं,

तो सासरी आली,

त्या काळातील तो समाज,

तेही निमशहरी भागात राहणारे ते,

ती नोकरी करत नसली तरी शिकलेली आहे म्हणून अहंकारी असेल असा घरच्यांनी पूर्वग्रह आधीच करून घेतलेला,

नावडतीचे मीठ अळणी म्हणून तिचं काहीच त्यांना आवडेना..

ती प्रयत्न करत होती,

पण हळूहळू अतोनात छळ होऊ लागला,

सासू दिवसभर कामाला जुंपायची,

तेवढं करूनही संध्याकाळी तिच्या नवऱ्याकडे तिच्या चुगल्या करायची,

तोही तिला अजून त्रास द्यायचा,

तिला नको नको झालेलं,
