खोलीत आई आणि संगीता असतांना आईला राहवलं नाही, आईने दार लावलं आणि संगीताला हळूच विचारलं,

“अगं तुला सगळ्याच गोष्टी विचाराव्या का लागतात? तुझ्या मनाप्रमाणे एखादी गोष्ट केली तर काय बिघडलं? हे बघ, मी तुला म्हणत नाहीये की तू याबाबत घरच्यांशी वाद घाल पण जी गोष्ट खटकते ती तुला बोलले..”

“आई, अगं तुझी काळजी रास्त आहे पण लक्षात घे..मी इथे नवीन आहे, या मोठ्या लोकांनी वर्षानुवर्षे ऊन पाऊस झेलत हे घर उभं केलं, कितीही अडचणी आल्या तरी ते सर्व या घरात तग धरून उभे आहेत..त्यांचा मान मोठा आहे, आणि काल आलेल्या मला सगळं आयतं मिळालं आणि मीच माझं म्हणणं कसं रेटू? थोडे दिवस जाऊदे, मलाही घरासाठी योगदान करू दे, घरासाठी थोडं झिजूदे..मग मला महत्व मिळेल..”

आईचे डोळे भरून आले, इतकी समजूतदार मुलगी आपल्या पोटी जन्माला आली म्हणून आईचा ऊर अभिमानाने भरून आला..

“खरंय मुली, पण या गोष्टी मी तुला कधी शिकवल्या हेच कळत नाही”
