सासूबाई आणि कावेरीबाईंचं बोलणं साधनाच्या कानावर पडलं. त्या दोघी बेडरूममध्ये गप्पा मारत होत्या. साधना किचनमध्ये स्वयंपाकाची तयारी करत होती. तेवढ्यात तिची मोठी जाऊ तिथे आली आणि तिनेही कामाला सुरुवात केली.

साधनाला राहवलं नाही, तिने हळू आवाजात भाजी चिरता चिरता मोठ्या जाउबाईंना विचारलं,

“काय ओ ताई, या मावशी अश्याच आहेत का??”

“म्हणजे तुलाही अनुभव आला वाटतं..”

“अश्याच आहेत अगं त्या, आल्या की आईंच्या मनात काहीतरी भरवतात, काड्या लावतात…आईचं वागणं बदलतं पण हळूहळू मूळ स्वभावात येतात त्या तेवढं बरं..”

गप्पा मारता मारता सासूबाईनी तिकडून आवाज दिला,

“पोरींनो झालं का काम?? इकडे या बरं..”

दोघीजणी हातातील काम सोडून तिकडे गेल्या.

“पोरींनो माझ्या बहिणीला एक छानशी साडी घ्यायचिये, कोणत्या दुकानात चांगली मिळते सांगा बरं..”
