संध्याकाळी सार्वजण जेवायला बसले, ताटात कारले बघून पक्या जेवायला नाटकं करत होता,

त्याचे वडील त्याला खूप रागावले,

“नुसतं चमचमीत खायची सवय झालीये, ताटात वाढलेलं खा गपचूप”

पक्याला राग आला, रागारागतच तो जेवू लागला,

आई वडिलांना सांगत होती,

“अहो माझा तो भाऊ नाही का, मुंबईला राहतो तो..या शनिवारी तो येणार आहे त्याच्या मुलीला घेऊन”

हे ऐकताच पक्याला गुदगुल्या झाल्या,

मामाची पोरगी येणार, खूप लहान असताना तिला पाहिलेलं त्याने, सुंदर, गोंडस…

ती शनिवारची वाट पाहू लागला,

त्या नादात कारल्याची भाजी त्याने कधी संपवली त्यालाच कळलं नाही…

त्या रात्री त्याने डायरीत दिवसभराचा सगळा लेखाजोखा लिहिला,

दुसऱ्या दिवशी शाळेत पीटी चा तास सुरू होता,

शिंदे मास्तर कवायत शिकवत होते,

तेवढ्यात तिथे इंग्लिशच्या मॅडम आल्या,

पोरं वेगवेगळे आवाज काढू लागले,

मिसरूड फुटलेले नववीचे पोरं,

मास्तर मास्तरीनचं नाव जोडून दिलेलं एकमेकांशी,

पक्या शनिवारची वाट बघत होता,

त्याच्या डायरीत तीन दिवसांनी तीन पानं भरली होती,

शनिवार उगवला,

पक्या शाळेतून घरी आला,

मामाच्या पोरीच्या विचाराने त्याला गुदगुल्या होत होत्या,

त्याला राहवलं नाही,

डायरी काढून त्यात लिहू लागला,

“ती येणार म्हणून मी कसा तयार होऊ? निळा शर्ट घालू की पांढरा? तिच्या डोळ्यात…”

त्याला काहीतरी अलंकारिक लिहायचं होतं पण वय आणि ज्ञान बघता सुचलं नाही,

तेवढ्यात त्याची लहान बहीण तिच्या मैत्रिणींसोबत धावत खोलीत आली,

त्याने घाबरून ती डायरी पटकन गादीखाली लपवली,
