“हो ना, मी कधीची वाट पाहतेय..”

“आई एक सांगू? साक्षीला माहेरी पाठवून दे, तिच्या हातचं खाऊन खरंच वैतागले मी…मेघा वहिनीच्या हाताला काय चव आहे म्हणून सांगू..साक्षीला इथे राहिली तर मेघा वहिनीला ती काही करूच देणार नाही..”

आईला ते खरं पटलं, आणि पंधरा दिवसांसाठी तिला माहेरी धाडण्यात आलं..

मेघा आणि तिचा नवरा आले,

सासूबाई कोमलला म्हणाल्या,

“बघ, आता कशी आल्या आल्या कामाला लागेल..”

मेघा त्रासिक मनस्थितीतच घरी आली, तिला माहेरी जायचं होतं पण साक्षी आधीच माहेरी गेल्याने तिला जाता येणार नव्हतं,

मेघाने आल्या आल्या सर्वांना फक्त स्माईल दिलं आणि खोलीत गेली, ती बाहेर आली ती डायरेक्ट दुसऱ्या दिवशीच..

“काय गं आई? तू तर म्हणाली होतीस..”

“प्रवास करून थकलीये ती…थांब जरा..”

मेघा आवरून खोलीबाहेर आली, किचनमध्ये गेली..तिथे सासूबाई आणि कोमल काहीतरी करत होत्या,

कोमल म्हणाली,

“आई म्हणतेय मेघाच्या हातची चव खूप मिस केली त्यांनी, मला काहीही बनवू दिलं नाही तिने..घे बाई आता तूच बघ..”

मेघाला राग आला पण तिने दाखवला नाही,

वैतागतच सगळं करायला घेतलं,

परदेशात इन मिन 3 लोकांचा स्वयंपाक करायचा असायचा पण त्यातही तिने कूक लावलेला, घरी माहीत नव्हतं हे..तिची चांगलीच पंचाईत झाली…कसेबसे विडिओ बघून तिने स्वयंपाक केला…जेवायला 2 तास उशीर झाला…

सर्वजण जेवायला बसले तेव्हा एकेक घास घशाखाली उतरत नव्हता, इतका बेचव, खारट पदार्थ बनलेला..

तरी सासूबाईंनी बाजू घेतली,

“सवय नाही राहिली तिला…म्हणून..”

दुसऱ्या दिवशी सासूबाईंनी बहीण 2 दिवस घरी येणार होती, चेकअप साठी, मेघाला ते बिलकुल आवडलं नाही..

कोमलला तिचा आवेश लक्षात आला, मेघाने पळ काढायच्या आधी कोमल काहीतरी कारण सांगून घरातून निघून गेली,

आता सगळं मेघावर पडलं,

एकेकाचं करता करता तिच्या नाकी नऊ आले,

सासूबाई म्हणाल्या,

“मेघा, ताईला शुगर आहे..तिला कमी मिठाचं वेगळं बनव..”

मेघा अधिक वैतागली होती, त्यात हे सगळं करून ती बेजार झाली..

सासूबाईंना पटकन साक्षीची आठवण झाली,

“स्वयंपाक आवरून ती ताई सोबत बसायची गप्पा मारायला, तिचे पाय चेपून द्यायची..तिच्या आवडीचं पुस्तक वाचून दाखवायची..”.

दोन दिवस झाले तोच मेघा वैतागली, काहितरी कारण काढून माहेरी जाते असं तिने जाहीर केलं. ती सहनच होत नव्हतं हे सगळं..

“दमली असशील, जाऊन ये माहेरी 2 दिवस..”

मेघा बघतच राहिली, दोन दिवसांनी परत यायचं म्हटल्यावर तिला सहन होईना…एवढी कामं, एवढ्या माणसांमध्ये वावरणं तिला असह्य होत होतं…

कोमलला आईच्या बोलण्याचा राग आला, मेघा माहेरी गेली. कोमलने आईला जवळ बसवलं आणि सांगितलं,

“पाहिलंस आई? तुला मोठ्या वहिनीचं मोठं कौतुक, ती सर्वांच्या वाढदिवसाचे स्टेटस टाकते, सर्वांना फोन करते, चौकशी करते म्हणून…अगं आई तुला समजत कसं नाही, असं दुरून दोन मिनिटं गोड गोड बोलणं वेगळं आणि वर्षानुवर्षे झिजणं वेगळं…”

“तू साक्षीबद्दल बोलतेय ना? ती तर कधीच कुणाचं स्टेटस ठेवत नाही की कुणाला फोन करत नाही..”

“त्यावरून तू निष्कर्ष कसा काढलास? आणि कशी टाकणार गं ती स्टेटस, तिला वेळ तरी असतो का? पूर्णवेळ तुमच्या मागे, मुलांमागे, पाहुण्यांचं करण्यात जातो..तू म्हणालीस मेघाने मावशीच्या वाढदिवसाला तिचा फोटो टाकला..तुला भारी कौतुक, पण मावशी इथे आल्यावर तिची पूर्णवेळ सेवा कुणी केली? मेघा वहिनीने पाहिलं ना काय केलं? आणि मेघा वहिनीला छान स्वयंपाक येतो असं म्हणालीस, पण वर्षानुवर्षे साक्षीच्या हातची सवय झालेली तुला कशी दिसली नाही? आणि मेघा वहिनीच्या स्वयंपाकाचा अनुभव घेतलाच की आपण! साक्षी वहिनीचं पण कौतुक करत जा की गं… मेघा वहिनीच्या केवळ दुरून दाखवलेल्या प्रेमावर तुझा लगेच विश्वास बसतो, पण जी दिवसरात्र तुमच्यासाठी करते तिच्या फक्त उणिवा दिसतात तुला. मेघा वहिनी माहेरी जातेय म्हटल्यावर वाहिनीचा फोन आलेला, मी लगेच येते म्हणाली…नाहीतर तुमच्यावर भार येईल..पण मी तिला स्पष्ट नकार दिला…कारण तुला मला जणीव करून द्यायची होती..”

“खरंच गं… साक्षी कायम डोळ्यासमोर असते पण तिचं कौतुक झालंच नाही आमच्याकडून कधी…तिला कायम गृहीत धरलं, ती माहेरी गेली आणि इथे बघ सगळं बारगळलं… आता किंमत कळतेय… बेटा तू बोलून दाखवलस हे खूप बरं केलंस..”

सासूबाईंचे डोळे उघडले तेव्हापासून साक्षीबद्दल त्या कौतुक करू लागल्या, साक्षीलाही खूप बरं वाटलं, त्या दिवसापासून ती सगळी कामं आनंदाने करू लागली…अशी नणंद असेल तर अजून काय हवं?
