तिच्या आवडीचा खाऊ बनवला,

तिच्या सासूला साडी आणि जावईबापूना कपडे घेतले,

लेकीच्या घरी गेले,

तिच्या सासूने आनंदाने स्वागत केलं,

“स्वाती येईलच थोड्या वेळात.”

असं म्हणत तिच्या सासूने स्वाती येईल म्हणून तिच्यासाठीही कॉफी करायला ठेवली,

“स्वातीला कॉफी आवडत नाही..” आई म्हणाली,

“नाही ओ, उलट कॉफी आवडते..आल्या आल्या तिला कॉफ़ी लागते..”

काही वेळाने स्वाती आली,

माय लेकींनी गळाभेट घेतली,

स्वाती म्हणाली,

“सासूबाई, हे गुलाबजाम..”

“अगं हे कशाला आणत बसलीस, तुला आवडत नाहीत मग आम्हीही खाल्ले नसते, तुला आवडतं ते आणायचं ना..”

स्वाती हसली, तिला एक फोन आला अन ती बाहेर निघून गेली..

सासूबाई आणि आई,

यांच्यामध्ये एक विलक्षण शीतयुद्ध सुरू झालं..

“आमच्या स्वातीला हे आवडतं, ते आवडत नाही..”

“आमच्या स्वातीला ते चालतं, हे चालत नाही..”

शेवटी आई म्हणाली,

“अहो माझी पोटची मुलगी आहे ती..मी तिला जास्त ओळखते..”

सासूबाईंच्या डोळ्यात पाणी आलं, त्याही म्हणाल्या,

“रोज माझ्या नजरेसमोर असते ती..मी ओळखते तिला..”

हे गोड भांडण स्वाती गपचूप ऐकत होती,

दोन्ही आयांची हक्काची लढाई सुरू होती,

“स्वाती माझी आहे, मी तिला जास्त ओळखते..” यावरून..

स्वातीवर हक्क दाखवण्यासाठी हे गोड भांडण…

नंतर स्वातीने आईला हळूच सांगितले,

“अगं जागा बदलते तश्या आवडी बदलत जातात..मला इथली कॉफी आवडायला लागली..निळा रंग आता माझ्या भरदार अंगावर शोभून दिसायला लागला…म्हणून सासूबाई हे सगळं बोलत होत्या..”

आईला प्रचंड समाधान वाटलं,

आईची जागा पूर्णपणे तर नाही,

पण काही अंशी तिची सासू भरून काढण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होती..
