ती ‘कटकट’ नसतेच..

 लोकेशची मनस्थिती आज जरा खराबच होती. रोज हसत हसत सर्वांना गुड मॉर्निंग म्हणत ऑफिसमध्ये येणाऱ्या लोकेशला आज असं शांत शांत पाहून सर्वांनाच चुकल्या चुकल्या सारखं झालेलं. त्याच्याच शेजारी बसणाऱ्या त्याचा को वर्कर मित्र सतिशच्या नजरेतूनही ही गोष्ट सुटली नव्हती. 

सर्वजण कामाला लागले, लंच ब्रेक मध्ये लोकेश नीट जेवतही नव्हता. त्याला बघून सतीशने त्याला अखेर विचारलं,

“लोकेश काय झालंय??”

“काही नाही रे..”

जेवताना इतर सहकारीही सोबत होते, घरगुती अडचण असेल म्हणून असं सर्वांसमोर जास्त चौकशी नको करायला असा सतीशने विचार केला.

लंच ब्रेक संपताच सर्वजण जागेवर जायला निघाले, सतीश आणि लोकेश अजून टेबल वरच होते. तेवढ्या वेळात बॉस ची परवानगी घेऊन दोघे 10 मिनिटं बाहेर गेले..

“लोकेश, आता सांग…आपण दोघे आहोत इथे फक्त..”

“अरे यार सतीश, मी मेघा च्या सततच्या कटकटीला कंटाळलो यार..”

“काय म्हणणं आहे तिचं??”

“हेच..पगार पुरत नाही..माझी हौस मौज होत नाही, माझ्या मैत्रिणी किती शॉपिंग करतात..हे नाही, ते नाही..”

“एवढंच ना..”

“एवढंच नाही…गावाकडून आई वडिलांचं आणि तिचं काहीतरी बोलणं होतं. काहीतरी वादावादी होते आणि मग माझ्यामागे पुन्हा कटकट. मला असा टोमणा मारला, तसा टोमणा मारला वगैरे..शेवटी मी तिला म्हटलं, यापुढे काहीही कटकट केलीस तर मी घर सोडून निघून जाईल..महिन्यापासून ती गप आहे..पण आधीसारखी नाही राहत. बोलत नाही, नीट वागत नाही..”

“बरं आता 10 मिनिटं झाली आहेत, आपण काम करूया…ऑफिस सुटलं की सविस्तर सांग मला अजून..”

दोघेही कामाला बसतात, लोकेशचा मूड जरा ताजातवाना झालेला असतो.त्याचं पुन्हा पहिल्यासारखं कामात लक्ष लागतं. सतीश त्याच्याकडे पाहून हसतो अन पुन्हा कामाला लागतो..

ऑफिस सुटल्यावर लोकेश अन सतीश कोपऱ्यावरच्या टपरीवर चहा प्यायला थांबतात..
सतीश काही विचारायच्या आधीच लोकेश सुरू करतो..

“बघ ना आता मागच्या महिन्यात तिचा वाढदिवस होता..घरी जायला मला उशीर झाला तर घर डोक्यावर घेतलं..”

“एक मिनिट लोकेश…मुन्ना…चहात आलं टाक मस्त..”

“आणि उशीर झाला म्हणून..”

“थांब…मुन्ना…बिस्कीट पण दे सोबत..”

“उशीर झाला म्हणून रुसून बसली…मी भांडण नको म्हणून सरळ बेडवर जाऊन पडलो आणि ती मात्र..”

“एक मिनिट… मुन्ना..मोठा कप दे…एकदम कडक चहा टाक..”

लोकेश चिडतो..

“सतीश काय चाललंय तुझं? मी तुला काहीतरी सांगतोय आणि तुझं लक्षच नाही…”

“लोकेश तुझं नेहमीचं आहे, प्रत्येक वेळेस मला हेच सांगतो तू…कटकट फार करतोस तू..”

“ऐकायचं नव्हतं तर बोलावलं कशाला? येतो मी..”

लोकेश चरफडत निघून जायला निघतो तोच सतीश पुन्हा त्याला आवाज देतो..

“थांब लोकेश…माझं म्हणणं नीट ऐक..”

“काय..बोल..”

“मला सांग, तू मला तुझे सगळे प्रॉब्लेम्स सांगतो तेव्हा तुझी माझ्याकडून काय अपेक्षा असते? मी तुझ्या घरी येऊन बायकोला समजवावं? की तुझ्या घरी येऊन भांडण करावं?”

“काय बोलतोय हे, फक्त माझं म्हणणं ऐकून घ्यावं हीच अपेक्षा असते माझी..”

“मग हेच तुझी बायको करतेय…हे बघ, आपल्या सारख्या मध्यम वर्गीय कुटुंबातील स्त्रिया खूप संघर्ष करत असतात, पैशापासून ते नाती जपण्यापर्यंत…त्यांच्या मनात युद्ध चालू असतं, काहीतरी सतत सलत असतं, काहीतरी बोचत असतं.. त्यांच्या मनात दिवसभर या वेदनांचा पूर साठत असतो..आणि त्याला वाट करून देण्यासाठी ते एक मार्ग शोधत असतात. हा मार्ग म्हणजे आपल्या ऑफिसमधून परतीचा मार्ग..बायको आपल्यासमोर मन मोकळं करणार नाही तर कोणाजवळ करणार?? अरे तुसुद्धा सकाळी मनातलं सांगितलं नव्हतं तोवर चलबिचल होतास, आणि लंच ब्रेकमध्ये माझ्याजवळ मन मोकळं केलं तर तुला जरा हायसं वाटलं…कशामुळे? मी तुझा प्रॉब्लेम दूर केला होता का?? नाही, फक्त ऐकून घेतलं..आणि ते मोकळं केल्याने तुला हलकं वाटलं..हे बघ मित्रा, मेघाच्या मनात साचलेलं, बोचलेलं, खुपलेलं याला वाट करून दे..मोकळं होऊ दे…तिला सोल्युशन नकोय, फक्त वाट हवीय मोकळं व्हायला…त्याला जर वाट मिळाली नाही तर आतल्याआत तिचं इतकं साचेल की कदाचित… सुटका म्हणून मरणाचा मार्गच तिला योग्य वाटेल..”

“काय??”

“हो…अनेक उदाहरण आहेत अशी..मानसिक तणाव, एकटेपणा, मानसिक द्वंद्व यामुळे अनेक स्त्रियांनी आत्मघात केलाय…असं तुझ्या आयुष्यात होऊ देऊ नकोस मित्रा…वेळीच सावध हो…आणि सर्वात महत्वाचं, ती ‘कटकट’ नसते मित्रा…त्याला वेदनांना वाट करून देणं म्हणतात…”

लोकेशला सतीश चं म्हणणं पटलं…त्याचे डोळे उघडले…घरी जाताच तो मेघा जवळ बसला. इतके दिवस अबोला असताना हा असा काय जवळ येऊन बसला म्हणून मेघाही चक्रावली..

“मेघा..काय केलंस मग आज?”

“काही नाही..”

“बरं तू काय म्हणत होतीस? तुला शॉपिंग करायची आहे ना??”

“हो, पण पैसे कुठे पुरतात आपल्याला.. गावी द्यायचे, घरही चालवायचं. कसली हौसच नाही मेली. वर तुझी आई म्हणत होती, खर्च कमी करा म्हणे.त्यांना म्हणा तुम्हाला पेन्शन आहे, दोघे मुलं पैसे देतात, कमी मागत जा म्हणा, इथे काही पैशांचं मशीन आहे? आम्ही खर्च कमी करून तिकडे त्यांची हौस मौज पुरवावी..शेजारची ती नीलिमा, मला टोमणा मारते…आज जुनीच साडी वाटतं?? आता रोज रोज नवीन साडी घ्यायला मी काही राजाची बायको आहे??”

मेघा इतक्या दिवसाचं साचलेलं सगळं मोकळं करते..बोलून झाल्यावर भानावर येते..लोकेश आता चिडेल की काय म्हणेल याने ती घाबरली..

लोकेश हळूच म्हणाला..

“हम्म…बरोबर गं.. मी काय म्हणतो, यावेळी गावी 3000 रुपये कमी देऊ…त्यात तुला हवी तेवढी शॉपिंग कर…घरचे काही बोलले तर सांगेन मी बरोबर त्यांना, तू काळजी करू नको..”

“नको नको, कशाला? तिकडे शेतीला किती खर्च येतो..त्यात वातावरण बिघडलं की सगळं पीक वाया जातं… आणि अप्पांना यावेळी डाळिंबाचं पीक घ्यायचं आहे, खर्च येतो त्याला…ते काही नाही, आपलं काय हो, आज नाही तर उद्या करू हौस..आहे त्यात सुखी आहोत आपण..”

लोकेश हे ऐकून अवाक झाला. प्रॉब्लेम मेघाचाच होता आणि सोल्युशन पण तिनेच दिलं..तिला कसलीही अपेक्षा नव्हती, कसलीही मागणी नव्हती, कटकट नव्हतीच ती मुळात…तिला फक्त वाट हवी होती..भावनांना मोकळं करण्याची….
